Everyone seems to be forgetting one small detail though.......

If it wasnt for the fact that Uncle Owen worked the living crap out of Luke on the farm on Tatooine,.maybe,.just maybe,.Luke would have had enough free time on his hands to actually sneak inside Uncle Owen's and Aunt Beru's room when they were away or preoccupied,. and unlock that secret wooden box that Uncle Owen kept stashed away under his bed.

You know the box I am talking about,.the box that Uncle Owen always kept safe-guarded from Luke ever even knowing about!!,.the same box that concealed all those childhood photos of Anakin when he was Luke's age. Had Luke been lucky enough to sneak his way, and actually see these photos,..only then,.would we see at the end of the Special Edition ROTJ, that Luke actually DOES know who this Hayden Christensen dude is trying to be. But because Luke never saw any of his dad's teenage pics,..he only gets to see his dad's face at the end of ROTJ.

But since the photos were burnt to a smoking crisp early in A NEW HOPE, alongside with the death of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru and pretty much the entire homestead,..Luke never got to see these pics at all,..and never knew what his daddy looked like in his youth. Too bad for poor Luke,..cause there must have been hundreds of cheesy photos of his daddy and Padme flirting around acting silly on Naboo and Coruscant.

Yeah,..Uncle Owen was a very stearn man indeed,.he never let off of Luke once,.never gave Luke an ounce of freetime,.for fear that Luke might recover the old photos of his daddy..heck,.as fans,.we never know if Luke ever had the free time to go to Toshee station and finally pick up those power converters. Cause once Luke joined the Rebel Alliance, he pretty much forgot he had placed the order for them. Maybe one of those authors for Extended Universe can finally sit down and write about this,.let us know if Luke travels back to Tatooine to pick up his power converters,.or if some frustrated smuck back at the auto parts store in Tatooine,.is still trying to call Luke to remind him about his waiting power converter order. But since the phonelines were pretty much seared to a crisp with the rest of the farm..Im sure the phone no longer rings,.and in 1977 GL wasnt thinking about cell phones as an alternate contact method.

Really doesn't bother me as it does a lot of other fans. If Lucas could deny Dave Prowse his due as Vader with this film, then seeing Hayden replace Shaw isn't that big a stretch.

One of the worst edits of the Special Editions, in my opinion. Incredibly disrespectful to Sebastian Shaw, who did a fine job.

The biggest problem with it guys is that it reminds you of the prequels. Surely Lucas could have realised that it's one thing to make three really irritating childish films and annoy the hell out of his original fans... but it's another to insert references to those films in the original movies.

The only real analogy to it I can think of the moment would be food. Imagine, for an instant, that you've just accidentally swallowed something really nasty, like ginger for instance... and so you take a drink of something with a nice strong flavour to wash the residue of the nasty stuff off your taste buds. THEN imagine that in the very last mouthful of this cleansing drink, some twerp has laced it with ginger again.

Of course, I'll never have to see that awful insertion again. I bought those DVDs that had the original films included so I'll never have to suffer from special edition nonsense again.

Already, the revisionist alterations and the rubbish prequels are a distant memory... and perhaps someday, I will have forgotten them entirely.

Well, fingers crossed anyway.

Dave Prowse was never meant to be visible or heard. He was hired to walk around in a suit. Lucas did not deny him of anything.

I thought Showing the ghosts to be a poor move period, but revisionism in general is a terrible terrible thing.

Its incredibly disrespectful to everyone - the entire cast and crew - the fans - history. GL pissed in all our mouths when he edited these pieces of history. And I don’t give a goddamn what anyone says - Star Wars belongs to everybody now, not GL alone. Its imbedded in our psyche now and in western culture in general. If Da Vinci came back and smeared feces all over the Mona Lisa, I’d want to see him hung in the street by his testicles as well.

i don't know why they just didn't put the cartoon anakin from the clone wars cartoon in there.... or jake lloyd.

baecause you know, he turned dark the second he grew up so if all that bullshit that everyone usses to justify this change is to be believed then it makes even more sense.

This post made me laugh right when I went to sneeze. Coincidence? I don’t think so.
