Are you a physician or something? And what I said was the same thing, just not as fancy.

You'd be thinking of Physisit there. A physician is somebody who looks after football players bodys and what not. And hell, atomic bomb theory isn't difficult. We covered gun and implosion fission bombs in year 11 physics(year 11 being the year you turn 16). The bomb dropped on Hiroshima was gun type, whereas the Nagasaki bomb was implosion. Both were fission bombs, which rely on the nuclear fission(splitting) of heavy atoms(Uranium, plutonium)into lighter atoms and energy. The other type of nuke are called either hydrogen bombs, fusion bombs or thermonuclear warheads. These take two light hydrogen atoms, and fuse them into a heavier helium atom, emitting energy in the process. This is a lot harder to do, and needs a much higher tempreture to start. Hence, you acctually need a small fission bomb to act as a trigger. Regardless, fusion bombs release more energy per mass of fuel, and don't leave so much fallout.

No... I'm part environmentalist, part economist. Its just my science background means I have a whole lot of other stuff swishing around my brain.

Besides, every person who is slightly left wing and slightly right wing knows nuke theory.

You take your radioactive substance that gives off alpha particles, and you rig it up so that the particles can only collide with another substance, and when they get too much radiation bombardmant, it goes off and you get a fusion fission atomic explosion. whee for mass destruction.

The beryllium is the substance that keeps your alpha particles going in the direction you want, right?

I'm going to create an insanity scale based on me. In Slades, here we go. At one Slade, you will talk to yourself and laugh about it, name your hat something grand, decide to become a pirate, and build a box-in-the-box-in-the-box jut so you can tell people that you've built one. At a milislade, you'd be 100 times less crazy than I, so you might have a nervous twitch or something when you see the color green. It sort of tapers off into negative infinity, but around a microslade, you are a boring drone of the masses, existing your whole life unknowing serving those in power, and refusing to find anything out. And at a kiloslade, you actually do become a pirate, build a full sized ancient greek styled temple to Eris, Our LAdy of Discord, begin speaking nothing but Esperanto, and watch old John Wayne movies while giving philosophical doctoral theses on their themes and motifs.
This space for rent. Inquire within.

Using yourself as a scale of insanity?
I think insanity should be a quantity in degrees - with 0 degrees Insanity being the point at which all your actions are normal enough to be readily predictable, negative quantities of insanity are where you are actually dull to a point that others feel maddened to a greater or lesser extent by your presence and positive degrees of insanity is where your actions become unpredictable based on the random and spontaneous nature of insanity.
At 100 degrees insanity, you are so mad that other people do not function in your presence, owing to how damnastically confusingly insane you are.
I'm about 37 degrees insanity - enough that most people feel slightly dull in my presence, except when they start laughing hysterically or gibbering in fear... also it means I make random words to convey emotion, compulsively write and sketch stories and believe firmly in gradual population streamlining.

Pfft... that's more like 15 degrees of insanity. You're saying you're one third the way to being Jeffery Dahmer? No, you're just a bit lower than you thought. In fact, you're probably more like 10 degrees. Sorry to burst you're bubble.

The asshole content\chance of of a fight in any bar can be measured in Burberuscaps. or by using the formula:

((B-D)*(B-D)/T) +N

N:Number of hours cheap drink has been served
B:Baseball cap wearing smacktards.
D:Number of doormen
T:Total number of customers.

So a level of about 1 is roughly okay, but anything more than 4 is asking for trouble.

Thats not difficult. He's saying if you increase the difference between the doormen and smacktards(in either direction), increase the amount of drinks, and decrease the total amount of ppl present, you'll increase the chance of a fight.

So....

One smacktard with 3 hours of cheap drinking is a disaster?

If there's no doorman. Which happens way more than I'd like around here.

I should really add a 'spilled my drink'\'lightweight asshole'\'holding a pool cue' factor to the equation. Or the presence of the ex-girlfriend.

The formula produces a number, but what does the number mean?
30 customers, one doorman, one hour of cheap drinking and fifteen smacktards gives 7.5ish... 7.5ish what.
I need a relative scale - is that a fight involving 7.5 people will erupt or what?
Good system, though.

Personally I liked the way that having too many guards is just as bad as having too many smacktards. And the fact that alcohol just adds a linear translation.
