There's no denying it was a terrible experience for him, and I can relate to an extent, but it was a very contrived moment. And sorry to twiggy, but where in "You're lucky you are hiding behind online anonymity, because if you pulled that stunt in a flesh-and-blood context you would live to regret it" - was there a cyberthreat... I specifically stated flesh-and-blood context, thusly not a cyberthreat... ahh I'll let it sit.

Just leave it alone!

He's sorry, really.

Oh well there are plenty other threads.

I'm surprised Beru lasted as long as she did without being taken away herself. Those raiders may walk like men, but they're Animals you know.

Maybe Shmi wanted to go... who wants to hang around with legless wonder Cliegg... maybe she was just having bondage fun with the Tusken and died of embarassment when Anakin busted in on her.

Though my theory is, she saw Anakin (cause), she died (effect)

Lost the will to live? No. The rest of the scene will be released in the Super Duper Fantastic Wonderful Special Platinum Edition Episode II: Attack of the Crap! Here is is...

TATOOINE SAND PEOPLE VILLAGE - SUNSET

SHMI SKYWALKER is held by ANAKIN SKYWALKER with a sad look in her face. Then SHMI SKYWALKER removes her tunic and reveals 8 mechanical arms with 2 lightswords in each.

ANAKIN SKYWALKER: Mother! How could you!

SHMI SKYWALKER: You're breaking my heart!

ANAKIN SKYWALKER: NOOOOO!!!!!

A deadly lightsword battle begins between SHMI SKYWALKER and ANAKIN SKYWALKER. It goes across the tatooine desert through a village of Sand People in and out of several Jawa sandcrawlers, to Mos Eisly spaceport.

SHMI SKYWALKER: UNLIMITED POWA!!!!!

SHMI SKYWALKER unleashes a deadly fury of dark side lightning on ANAKIN SKYWALKER and LANDO CALRISSIAN and WATTO and JAR JAR BINKS.

JAR JAR BINKS: Meesa fried!

WATTO: Shit.

ANAKIN SKYWALKER: I hate you! Yippiee! I will be your apprentice.

ANAKIN SKYWALKER uses the force to pull a lightsword from the corpse of WATTO and stabs SHMI SKYWALKER in the heart. ANAKIN SKYWALKER get on his pet wampa rat WAMPARATTA and returns to the Sand People village.

CORUSCANT JEDI TEMPLE - MORNING

YODA: Die they will.

MACE WINDU: I bet.

AAYLA SECURA: Ohhh Master Windu! I'm afraid for our love child, Lando Calrissian!

MUSTAFAR DROID CONTROL SHIP - NIGHT

BATTLE DROID: Whoops.

TATOOINE SAND PEOPLE VILLAGE - NIGHT

ANAKIN SKYWALKER: Die you scum!

SAND PEOPLE: Honk, honk, honk!

ANAKIN SKYWALKER uses his lightsaber and new robotic arms from SHMI SKYWALKER that were installed by R2-D2, to kill all the Sand People and their Jedi leader MASTER HONK HONK HONK.

Okay I'm done. It wasn't that funny... but I had a lot of fun writing it.

QUOTE (jariten @ May 25 2005, 01:49 PM)
off topic-
Well only Padme knows, so I suppose the question is "why didn't Padme do anything about it?". If we compare her reaction to that to her reaction to the youngling massacre, you could come to the conclusion that the tuskans were regarded as "animals" like Anakin said, they captured and tortured and killed his mother, and hence they 'deserve' it. I'd like to hear Lucas' take on it. For me, life is life and I wish we had some more Padme reaction scenes.

I think the reason for this is Lucas's need for archetypes. Padme steadily loses her sense of empowerment throughout the PT in order to become the damsel in distress that only Obi-Wan can save. She gets so blinded by her "love" for Pouting Stalker Boy that she denies the bloody obvious... twice. AotC she can rationalise by thinking that everybody gets mad sometimes and he was just more powerful than the average bloke on Tatooine. How much of a reaction could she possibly have and still be able to justify her marriage and everything that spawns from it?

he should have slaughtered the sandpeople AFTER knocking up Padme...
that would have made her a less stupid character.

I totally agree, and I think Anakin should've never said ANYTHING to Padme at all----his silence, his shutting it up all in side would've been much more dramatic, and him being trapped inside that suit later would be incredibly symbolic.
