Hey. I got an email from a fan of Quest for the Crown. He is a contributing writer for a homebrew adventure gaming site and there is quite the discussion about the game going on there. Check it out:

I laughed so hard the first time I played that game. The walkthrough was an added bonus. The music at the end was Facking hilarious. I downloaded it as soon as I heard it. Peter Cetera baby, Peter Cetera

Finally, someone who spotted the elements from SimCopter. I am no longer alone. (Non-sarcastic side note: What the bloody hell?)

I've never played Sim Copter, but I would guess the camera angle.

How did SimCopter get made. How did they figure that "copters" were the logical progression?

BOARD EXEC 1: Okay, we've done all sorts of of sim games. Sim City, Sim Earth, Sim Tower... what would be the logical next step? Sim .... Sim .... Sim ....

icy silence

BOARD EXEC 2: ... Copter?

BOARD EXEC 1: You is talking the crazy talks and me likes the crazy talks!

the execs share a high five

Did I mention there was a thread about it too on the Weebl & Bob forums? It's not nearly as big or as insightful, though.

(And I didn't do it.)

I think they did SimCopter around the same time they did "Streets of SimCity." Which was a driving game type thing. In both of the games you could import your own sim city and then fly/drive around it doing rescumissions, etc. (Or just fly/drive)

It is a kind of neat idea.. but if I remember correctly the graphics were not that great... Andwould probaby work better now a days.

No they weren't that great at all. It reminded me of the animated helicopter I programmed using BASIC when I was in computer camp in 1986.

Damn, that 'copter was bad ass.

i played simcopter, it was kinda cool. except when i had to deliver a wounded dude, and after 12 minutes of trying to ascend to the top of the building, i realized i had a bucket of water.

quest for the crown is an awesome game. i have beaten it about

laugh.gif Excellent game! That was how I first found Chefelf.com, I was reading some updates in "the Immediate" on the "The Stone" website and they were suggesting Quest as an alternative for the Stone when it kicks the bucket, so to speak! wink.gif
