Any VHS that don't say SPECIAL EDITION should be the origionals. I have the THX remastered ones myself. Not the re-releases with additional crap.

Ya but where can you get those VHS ones without the special edition? I'm guessing they have become expensive cause of their rare commodity now.

Try used book stores, junk stores, something along those lines. Retail stores don't sell them anymore. Or buy a bootleg DVD...

Next time there is a comic book or science fiction convention in your area, you will almost certainly be able to purchase burned DVD's there. I went to the local "Motor City Comic Convention" and they had every conceviable Star Wars object for sale on DVD at prices in the 10-15 dollar range. (I bought the DVD of "Clone Wars: Volume 2" for $12.

As for me personally.....

I found the remastered original Trilogy in a used book store - all 3 for $15 in total. The boxes weren't in the best shape though.

I have the original movies completely untampered with on video. I have been meaning to get them copied on to DVD for a while now. If I do get around to it I'll look at putting them up somewhere and let you know.

Anyone who pays money for a DVD of the original trilogy has been ripped off. These things are out there and available as fan preservations of unavailable work FOR FREE.
