So, I'm probably the only one in the world who did this, but I'm curious. A friend called me up on Tuesday evening asking, "Hey, you wanna go to the midnight opening of Revenge of the Sith?" and I said, "Screw that. I'm going to see Steamboy."

For those of you who don't know, Steamboy is the newest animated film from Katsuhiro Otomo, creator of Akira. There's a good chance that I'm the only one on the forum who saw it, because it was only released in 4 states for half a day (I'm exagerating, but only a little). Lucky for me, the new indy theater in town got it as one of thier first movies.

Before I post my opinion of it, I wanna know if anyone else saw it. So, c'mon, people...don't leave me hanging, or whatever it is the young people say. sad.gif

EDIT: Leave it to me not to be able to type the thread name correctly. angry.gif

I couldn't figure out how to edit the title dry.gif

Anyway, I saw the dub, and I thought it was pretty good. Course, anything with Patrick Stewart is automatically Awesome + a million. If you're interested, I reccomend it, especially if you can see it at the theater. The ending was a little weak, and there wasn't a lot of what you would call 'character development', but it was still a fun movie, and even if they didn't change much, the characters were all likeable in thier own ways.

...cept maybe that one guy...

I heard it was good, but I also heard what you mentioned earlier ; not a lot of character development, and a weak ending. I still wanna see it though.

I saw steamboy a few months ago... (subtitled though.. which i find is better, but sometimes I just like the ease of a dub)

I loved it. Not as crazy as Akira though...
Also I would like to see more of it.. But very much the same spin on things of those who abuse technology and power are doomed.

(I also liked it because it was the first movie I saw with this one girl I'm sort of seeing.. hehe)
