I personally believe that since they are the same DNA as him and appearance, they should be considered the same being. c_c

But, do you count Boba Fett as 'Jango Fett'?

Yeah, nature/nurture.

Have you ever heard of "twins?"
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

Yes, as others have said, Jango, Boba and the Clones are not the same character, even if they are the same being.

C-3PO is in all six though, because even though he had a memory wipe in Revenge of the Sith, he's still the same character. It's like saying, if Obi-Wan lost his memory due to old age in A New Hope, would that make him a different character? No, he'd still be Obi-Wan. So Threepio is still Threepio.

So the only characters officially in all six are Anakin, Obi-Wan, Threepio and Artoo. Then, in second place, you have Yoda and Palpatine appearing in five of the six. You could argue that the clones were in five of them too, but they're not one character.

Palpatine isn't even mentioned by name in Star Wars - he is referred to solely as the Emperor. in fact he was never called palpatine throughout the course of the entire original trilogy.

The clones don't count, because the stormtroopers in the OT aren't the clone troopers - they are all different sizes,, different voices etc. Boba Fett isn't Jango Fetts clone anyway since thats a steaming pile of horsehooey. Yoda is in 5/6, the Emperor is in 4.5/6 since he was a different person in Empire Strikes Back (revisions don't count, and that still applies to Boba Fett) Qui-Gon Jinn is in 1.5/6 (he picks up the half because of his voice in Clones)

Clones don't have the same DNA as the template anyway owing to mitochondrial DNA. Luke, Leia and Chewbacca have their cameos in ROTS.
That leaves artoo, threepio, Anakin/Vader (perhaps that could be excluded on the grounds that they are two distinct entities, only meeting in Mister Darkside on Mustafar) and Obi-Wan (perhaps excluded on the basis of being dead).

#1. Palpatine being a different actor doesn't matter. He appeared in five movies. o.o

#2. Chewbacca wasn't in Episode I or II.

#3. Vader isn't another entity. If there's still good in him, then there's still Anakin in him.

#4. Obi-Wan makes more than a vocal appearance, though.

Qui Gon only says, "Anakin. ANAKIN. NOOOOOOOO!" in Episode II, no appearance, and is mentioned by name only in episode 3 at the end.

i watch the damn thing like 1000 times or so...

i'm pretty damn certain, yeah...

Yeah...you'll get no argument from me.

And if you arent counting C-3PO as the same person, then can you count Anakin then? He went from the child to a half man/half machine Dark Lord of the Sith.

Technically its not Anakin.

The good man who was your father died and became Darth Vader.
Pretty clear - though there is apparently good in him (which doesn't show itself until ROTJ, where it contradicts ROTS) he is Darth Vader.
Obi-Wan makes a more than vocal appearance, but he is dead.
All in all, much less than seven.

Even in the databank of StarWars.com they count Anakin and Vader as two different persons.

Personalities. They're not different entities.

But to me Anakin and Vader are two different persons. It's like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. They are the same entity but they are two DIFFERENT characters.

Personalities. Just because they act different doesn't mean that they are different beings.

You mustn't count Obi-Wan because he's dead in Episodes V and VI.

So Anakin's in 4 and Vader's in 4. Threepio doesn't count because he has his memory wiped and therefore has a new personality. Obi-Wan is merely a spirit (albeit a fairly prominent one) in V and VI so he he only gets 4.

So the winner is........

R2D2!!!

He really does deserve our gratitude.
