What's with all the new blood lately? They all claim everything is useless and not worth talking about.

How many people think Chewy does look different??

I've only seen 'him' in stupid-ass tie-in comercials (like that cell phone thing) and he looks the exact same to me.

I mean they probably have the exact original costumes to directly copy and no CG vs. real costume trouble to match up.

They even hired back Mayhew that lanky orge to fill the suit again.

I have the ROTS Scrapbook, and they did NOT use the same costume. The foam that let it move, was too stiff with age, so they had to make a new one.

I can't find images from EPIII of Chewie but look at these:

When you see the EPIII images compare.

Thank you.

he's on screen for five seconds...

the fact that he's in this film is far worse than the already established fact that digimons don't look as good as mupets.

you are right...

i just think it was the east of problems...

they totally fucked darth vader for starters.

Getting any OT character wrong is unforgiveable. R2 looks like a CG model from the desktoptop of a fanboy. Oh...that explains it.

Vader, Yoda, Chewie, Jabba......Capt Antilles!!!

I know Antilles wasn't seen much in EPIV but c'mon! He didn't look like THAT!

And what about the Tantive IV? That was all doo-dadded out too.

I'm gettin' angry.....

Relax there, no need to be pedantic. Chewie's look was fine. The fact that he and Yoda apparently got intimate and really got to know each other wasn't.

There are too many blaringly obvious problems than to go complaining about Chewie's "look'!

Putting the Tantive IV in there was very good, I thought. At least it was a logical way to moreso tie the two trilogies together.

And by pedantic I assume you mean the definition of formality and uninspirational or making a vain display of learning?? You have annotated it perfectly.

There are many "blaringly obvious problems" too. Don't get me wrong here; I agree. Having an iconic character from the OT looking the slightest bit wrong, deserves a comment. It may not be a big deal, but it is wrong.

Something about his face is different....lips are bigger or something. I'll have to scan the image and post it. Worth a thousand words.

Pedantic. Classic.

BUT IT WAS DIFFERENT!!!!!!!!!! WHY ARE MY POINTS BEING MISCONSTRUED????

Why not make Obi-Wan an alien with an extra arm? Have Luke and Leia be conjoined twins? Turn Yoda in a blue creature? Make Tatooine a paradise?

Magnified, exaggerated comments here folks. My point is to be faithful to the OT, which is obvious Lucas is not. This is a reason why EPI and II seemed odd. 3PO was different. Different BAD but different. R2 was different. Not in appearence, per se, but in actions and abilities.

What's the point in pointing out certain flaws and not others?

Personally I didn't see much difference in Chewie's appearance.

The Tantive IV looked fine on the inside but I dont' understand what happened on the outside. Much like the proto X-wings, TIE fighters and Star Destroyers it looked only loosely based on the original ship. I can accept the fact that the Star Destroyers we see in ROTS are simply precurssors to the ones we see in the OT but the Tantive IV jsut doesn't make any sense if it is indeed supposed to be the same ship.

As for butting into a thread and calling it useless... how about not doing that? This is a forum designed for people to talk about stuff. If you think that the particular topic is useless... simply don't participate. If you think talking about stuff in general is not cool then maybe an internet forum is not the place to be spending your idle time.

Just my $0.02 worth.

I don't know how to add an image in a post but check out this image I found on-line:

http://www.rebelscum...on%20May%202005

This is not Chewbacca. Sunken eyes and no "Wookie Fresh sheen" to his hair.

The lips are different too.

It's close, but it ain't him. This is great as it does lend creedence to the opinion Chewbacca might be a very common nmae amongst wookies and this is a different Chewbacca. Thanks to Veer for suggesting that!! Now I can sleep a bit better.
