Is there anyone else that absolutely loves Jabba? I think he's great. Seriously! I just want to know if anyone has any problems...or something like that.

Okay, this is just an excuse to get the first topic in this forum. But I really do like Jabba.

Did you read the sign outside this particular subforum... yes, some of us have problems with Jabba... personally i'd have preferred the jabberwock to jabba...
He was wasted potential, since he could have been filed into the overarcing plot of the rebellion against the empire, but instead was put into this prelude sequence that had no bearing on the integral plot of the trilogy in general or return of the Jedi in particular.
He also ate frogs and died revoltingly.
From mention of him in SW and ESB I didn't expect an immobile fat slug - I wanted someone cool enough to have someone so cool as Boba Fett bring him someone so cool as Han Solo. Some kind of Godfather, possibly a humanoid alien, on a higher-technology world than Tatooine, with an organisation with freighters and fighters and gunslinging henchmen. I didn't need the Fat Wizard of Oz and Max Rebos Magical Muppets.

Jabba was positively frightening in ESB because he never saw who he was. Just Han Solo would be in deep crap if he didn't pay him off ASAP. Then comes along ROTJ and he's nothing but a fat slug surrounded by muppets. To further insult us he's inserted into a deleted scene that should've stayed deleted in the SE Episode 4, where Solo walks all over him. Tell me after that scene why Han should fear him in ESB?

I like the look of Hutts, and as a race they're one of my favourties in the SW universe, but Jabba himself made for a lousy gangster

Please don't pick on Jabba! How boring wouldn't it have been to have another "cool" villain in the movies instead of his very excellence of decadence. The idea of having someone so fat he can't even walk (no, don't mention PT or ep4) as a master villain is brilliant. Even more so, he chains humanoid slave girls to his body simply because he can and it turns him on.. I will not say that some of the Jabba scenes couldn't have been improved (because they really can), but I challenge you to come up with another movie villain who is more decadent and revolting.

I like Jabba, I think he's an interesting character and it's good to have a villain who isn't a Seperatist, Sith or Imperial. He himself is excellent. However, he is ruined somewhat by his allies. Whether they be the stretchy-lipped Sy Snootles or the cackling Salacious Crumb, I hate every single one of them. Replace them with some creatures that are less annoying, less like Muppets and more like genuine Star Wars aliens and I'll be happy.

Jabba's fine in TPM, it makes sense that he would be there. I think enough has been said of his ANH appearence. That was simply awful.

I always did feel like Jabba was a Godfather type. As far as all the guys around him; They all rule, even that blue elephant. Anyways, when they changed that in the special edition I was disgusted.

For what its worth, I genuinely enjoyed Jabba as a youth, and I still do.
