I actually considered the issue of which topics should get pinned and figured that it should be the most popular ones - those with 100 plus replies and over 5000 views. Naturally thered have to be, you know, conditions for being pinned because other wise it wouldnt be fair.

Mnesymone- the screening room isn't doing that badly. That post was a poorly worded attempt at satire that never quite got off the ground, or out of one sentence.

Mnesymone - What's wrong with Heccubus as mod? Just cos he doesn't have an 'Official And Exclusive Screening Room Moderator' title doesn't mean he isn't doing an okay job. Granted, the place could do with some clean-up (or did the last time I checked in there a few days ago before this thread came to pass) but frankly it kinda sounds like you're taking this all a little out of proportion. You wouldn't happen to have a creation in there that just fell to page 2, would you? :P

It's just that, well...

the invasion of the screening room is beginning as we speak... someone just popped up in the middle of it and made a completely irrelevant starwars post

I fail to be shocked and distressed.

And the 'most popular' threads are generally, by classification, popular. They'd be getting bumped all the time if they were getting 100 replies.

Well that is an unfair system as it would reward something as "popular" that is simply "old". Or, you could name something "Star Wars Britney Spears Dragonball Z Jenna Jameson Boobies" and immediately become the most popular topic in the Screening Room.

As I've stated time and time again, the Screening room exists to support anyone doing their own work and should be used to feature, link to and "advertise" said work. I encourage anyone to get their own sites and do their work there. It would give you a lot more flexibility and the ability to link to a discussion thread in the Screening Room. smile.gif

Chef just pin that response in the screening room. Everybody seems to ask it at least once a month.

You know, if anyone should be the mod of the screening room, it should be JM. I mean, he spends half of his time in there.

i like the idea of pinning because once my thing is done (and it's taken so long to create, and it only is relevant to THIS site...

once it is complete, it will quickly move to page 2, and new people will never see it...

and that make sexual harrasment panda very sad...

and when people say "why is barends stuff pinned and not mine?" we can say "get bent!"

then everybody's happy!!!

as for the mod thing, i think if anyone were appointed (i'm not making any argument fer er egainst), that it should not be one of the artists...

because as SRMod the first thing i would do is pin all my shit up!!!

and yeah...

I think stickies would be a bit cluttered with all the pin worthy stuff in there. I'm more in favor of the link thread. A thread with the awsomely awsome stuff gets linked and the moderately awsome stuff gets linked also.

As for mod I could be a nice candidate. I have not a creative bone in my body and I don't plan to plague these forums with my meaningless dribble (my regular dribble already take up too much room here as it is). Anybody else agree?

Well, you didn't stick around for your DM job for very long...

And I think there should be a sub-forum for completed projects so they don't clutter up the place with stickys.

Completed works sub-forum is good... not abandoned works, actual completed ones. So Starry Nights, Despondents stuff, the Star Wars outings, Glamis the Great and Lord of the Rings get to be around rather than being kicked back to the back pages.

Good idea, mighty huge enormous great Barend.
Solid solution.
