Actually my favourite film villain, some villains in Necroscope or Song of Ice and Fire are terrific too!

But books are diffrent medium altogether!

And isn`t he delightfully satanic? You have everything: Malice, Cunning, Seductiveness, Hatred, sheer power.... everything that makes great, epic evil!

Palpatine was half decent until he starts weilding a lightsaber. He should have just shocked them with lightning. Oh, I forgot. Lightsabers can block lightning. That Luke sure was dumb.

Just proves that McDiarmid is awesome and Samuel L. Jackson was horribly miscast. Palpatine is very cool in that scene - as is the music, which interestingly was not on the soundtrack

- and it's really almost ruined by Jackson. I like how McDiarmid slips into his Emperor voice there for "I am the senate" though, that was pretty cool.

Samuel L Jackson wasn't horribly miscast. He was/is great as Mace Windu. He plays the part well. Ian McDiarmid is awesome as Plapatine and does a great job as him. I thought the scene was awesome, and I can't wait for the movie. You can't judge an entire movie just by seeing one scene from it.
