I know next to nothing about Star Trek, compared to many of you. Or at least that is my theory. For you Trekkies on the forum, what is your favorite Star Trek movie/episode/series?

The Wrath of Khan is an undeniably good place to start.

Nemesis was a sorry way to end the film series.

I haven't seen much, and of what I have seen I remember little. But four was good, mostly for the humour. First Contact was excellent.

"First Contact" was probably the best of the Next Generation films.

I've only seen bits and pieces of Nemesis. The parts I watched were somewhat boring, and didn't hold my interests.

Here' the straight dop....Wrath of Kahn.

Period.

Best. One.

I happen to like The Motion Picture (although I NEVER liked the title)

It might be slow and boring in spots for some but it did one thing right, it took itself and everything in it SERIOUSLY.

Kahn was serious too but sprinkled with a little humor to boot. The others are okay, except for 5, but too much humor for me.

Oh and except for Insurrection. And Generations. Hmmmm... now that I think about it....

The DVD director's edition of Star Trek: The Motion Picture sucks though.

On the whole I'd say the Motion Picture's greatest strength is the superb special effects (the original ones anyway, not the crap that was added in the director's edition) and Jerry Goldsmith's music.

I'm very fond of #3, the Search for Spock.

I like Motion Picture (Lebowski is right, we need to come up with a better title) because the whole V'Ger thing is a little creepy and cool, but STIV: The Voyage Home is my favorite for the humor and (yet another) creepy alien probe.

I like Generations, but First Contact is my favorite (Who doesn't love the borg?)

For the record, I can't watch or even think about the worm scene in ST II without thinking about Freakazoid ("I could put ooey gooey worms in yours ears...") biggrin.gif
I finally got a sig!

I remember watching Khan when I was younger and being really freaked out when those insects crawl into Chekov's ear. The very next day, a bug flew into my ear and I though I was going to end up like Chekov. It flew out after a few seconds, but I was convinced it layed eggs in my ear.

Wrath of Kahn is an awesome Trek movie. I also really liked 5 (the one with Spocks half brother leading them to "God") but that's due to the hot Klingon chick in it (I like my women aggresive!). The worst one was 4 when they went back in time to hunt for a Whale! It should have been called "Star Trek IV: Greenpeace adventures". If only French special forces had sunk the Enterprise.....
