QUOTE (Lord Melkor @ May 15 2005, 08:33 AM)
They had every right to bring back one true Emperor-magnificent Ian McDiarmid, Lord Aquaman!
Why don`t you like this change?

I thought it was pointless and is a slap in the face to Clive Revill. Was it really so horrible for him to have that little spot in the SW films? And what about the historical value of film, showing how films changed from one era to the next?

Technically, according to the trivia of IMDB, they superimposed the eyes of a chimpanzee over the face of an old woman and then dubbed in Clive Revill's voice. But again, was it really so horrible that way?

Was never really a fan of Ian McDiarmid as the Emperor, and that new dialogue in ESB is appalling. Sorry, LM.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

Now... I realise I might be commiting a terrible crime here, but... who are Jeremy Bulloch and John Ratzenberger?

I'm guessing one is Boba Fett, and I know Sebastian Shaw was Anakin Skywalker... but could someone fill me in?

John Ratzenberger is better known as Cliff Claven. But he was some guy in Hoth... I can't quite remember who off of the top of my head, though. c_c

The new Emperor scene in ESB is laughable. Revill's Emperor was much more mysterious . . . it left so much more to the imagination.

I will not watch the new ROTJ. Vader's helmet never should have been removed in the first place. Again, it would have left more to the imagination. Then again, I'm not a genius, like GL is.

I've seen pictures from the DVD, and the new Emporer in ESB is pretty stupid looking. Looks very out of place.

Hi I'm new here. I actually joined to reply to this thread.

I think it is a disgrace that the original Emperor got edited out of "The Empire Strikes Back" -even if he was just the voice and not the face.

Ian Mcdiarmid is very good in the prequels, no doubts there.
But Clive was superb in his only "appearance" in the Saga. And to erase him from history, so to speak, is a crime. Or should be at any rate.

Thats my two cents.

Thanks.

I hadn't heard that he's gone. JR does have some lame tv show where he tours plants and makes "funny" comments along the way.

the Poll has been updated.
