You put Earthbound above Chrono Trigger and FFVI? BLASPHEMY!

Unless you were really high when you played it.

'Tis a very Nintentoish list, though it was nice to see that at least metal slug sneaked in there. Though why Breath of fire 2 is included with the superior sequels around remains a question, ditto for circle of the moon, when Synphony of the night (saturn) remains the series high point.

I've never gotten the opportunity to play SotN thoroughly enough to include it.

And, it's probably because Nintendo consoles offer more gameplay-oriented games. I oughta put Xenosaga on my Top Movie List (looket that one too, folks!). </Old joke>

Also, Kirby, you ever play Kirby Super Star?

If your argument's based on having played games on the other consoles as much as on nintendo's then it's justified, otherwise you're suffering form classic ninty blinkervision (like 80% of the fanbase). Been there and don that; it's adamn fine way way to kill off you gaming knowledge.

This does remind me of one of my first year assessments, we had to wrote a 5k word assay on the top 50 games\series of all time (about 100 words to justify each title in no particular order), marks lost for fanboyism, and series had to be rated as a whole rather than on individual merit, so stuff like Ufo or Final fantasy could get knocked out of the list for bad form.

Meh, too long ago to remember, Though I do think Secret of mana, Metal slug, chrono, and castlevania sneaked into my list, alongside stuff like princess maker and the shining series (now disqualified for arse-poor GBA titles). The list always gets weak towards

But to return to BOF again, why's the first one even there? It's a squaresoft re-translated fuckup that most fans avoid. Has someone finally translated the japanese rom so it makes sense again?

I don't care much for games anymore. I'm a movie buff (at least, I'd like to think).

Link, dude where the hell's Zelda: OOT? That's definitely the best Zelda game out there (Except mabye ALTTP), and it's definitely better that Majora's Mask.

Edit: Game list.

1) Resident Evil Remake
2) Zelda: Ocorana of Time
3) Super Smash Bros. Meele
4) Advance Wars 2
5) Worms: World Party

That's all the games that I can think of that I really love.

Well, he thought that I only liked Chrono Trigger because it was by Squaresoft, and not because it kicked ass. And Secret of Mana was way way better than Seiken Densetsu 3, though 3 had more character development. Meh. Whatever. To each his own.

And having to rank an entire series isn't at all fair, especially when the diferent games in the series are, you know, DIFFERENT GAMES...

But if they're good games for their genre it was fine, it was a games dev class though, so we were looking as much at the series pedigree as anything else. If you produce a good title (say, Total annihilation) and then a crap title using the originals name as a hook (TA Kingdoms), the quality of the license gets damaged.

If it was a true spin off (no plot\character connection) and not a numerical sequel, then it was classed separately. So FF tactics was separate from FF and so forth.

Link: Nah, but maybe later

More list starting at 6:

7. Pokemon Red Blue or whatever color (electronic crack I say)
8. Phantom Brave (kinda like Disgaia or FFT but instead of grids we have circles and radii and the geometric like)
9.Contra III: Alien Wars (taught me the value of my own mortality)
10. Comand and Conquer: Red alert (beaten down the commies one tesla coil at a time)

More on the way.

Most of Square's games are poor to average. Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy X, what have you. Also, I bashed Square, not you, in defense of EarthBound.

And how, exactly, is OoT better than MM? It loses in the plot department, sidequest department, gameplay department, visuals department, audio department and length department.

Okay, I liked the plot of OOT better. I thought it was smoother than "There's magic masks and a giant moon with a face." I don't remember any of the sidequests or gameplay or that stuff, because it's been a long time since I've played it, but I do distinctly remember that OOT had 9 dungeons, while MM had 4/5.
