I dug up some old materials. I thought it might be fun to take a look back
as Episode Three approaches. Please feel free to comment or post your own. smile.gif

Wow, those articles were great. It's great that all the article predictions and reports seem to be pretty reliable and based on actual events from the movies except for the one about the travellers from Earth's 13th century attacking with crossbows. What's up with that?

Man, those rumours are funny because none of them came close to being in the movie. This thread just makes me long for a time when we really had good movies to look forward to. Movies that would capture our imagination and stay with us forever.

The rumours were pretty wild, weren't they? That article was great, Despondent! Thanks for sharing it with us.

You're very welcome, MG. I just happened to find this box of stuff a week or so ago.

There will be a mix of interviews and articles, mostly from the year of ESB. Some images are from The Art of SW,

And there will be some fan content as well, from the message boards of a more civilized time.

Man, that picture of Darth Vader with Boba Fett in the background is fantastic. What a powerful picture. Looking at that pic gives me such a great feeling, it's enough to make me get lost in the OT once again.

I think I'm at a point now where I can just pretend the PT doesn't exist. It's a happy, happy place. smile.gif

Absolutely. You're doing a great job of recapturing that lost magic, Despondent. These are wonderful.

I've said it before - I'll say it again. Kershner rocks. Him, Kurtz, Brackett and Kasdan were a great team. Lucas, Marquand and Kasdan made a much weaker - much less well-meshed - on Return of the Jedi.
Now with Lucas calling the shots and McCallum at this beck and call we're all seeing the degradation of quality when you go from good collaborative work to solo self-indulgence.

As for a countdown thread - I had one, with reviews of all the existing Star Wars movies... Anyone who wants can dig it up.

Starry Nights?

Starry Nights?

I can't believe it. Either someone was making a poster for my movies some twenty years ago or I made one when I was four and forget about it. wink.gif

That's just so weird!

Where did you find that, Despondent? Thanks for putting that up for me, wherever its from! smile.gif

Couldn't help myself, found it with the ESB articles. The Pic is from an ad for "Galaxina," and I just gave it a new title. It looked too much like SN. smile.gif

Ah. You did really well then. The title looked very authentic.

Perhaps I could use it as a type of antique poster, like the original Star Wars poster. Anyway, that was great!
