QUOTE (Storm @ May 17 2005, 12:33 AM)
I'm not trying to start a fight.  I'm just stating the truth from an objective view.
QUOTE (snaithbert)
It's just that when someone ends their post with an unrelated addition about how we're all mindless sheep just trying to please Chef Elf- it ticks me off.

I have been reading this forum for more than a year now, and I can tell you from a genuinely objective point of view that you are wrong. Chefelf is just this guy, you know? There is no advantage to sucking up to him; he doesn't close threads or edit posts or hand out free light sabers in accordance with who pleases or displeases him.

For a long time this has been a community of people perfectly at ease with differences in opinion. From time to time things get heated. You want to make some childish blanket statement like "You are all just sheep, and you have no opinion until Chefelf tells you what it is," then hey, it's light of day time: a lot of people in this very thread have already leveled an opinion about the upcoming film, based on word of mouth and what they have seen in the tv spots and theatrical trailers. These people aren't waiting for Chefelf to tell them how to think. So why don't you lay off the "objective" observations, since they don't really hold up.
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

As for me, I thought a lot of the article was well-written, but it sounds like Travers wasn't really a STAR WARS fan to begin with.

Here is my ROTS review: "I have only seen TPM. ROTS is better."
