Do you want this movie to be good or are you doing everything to hate it as much as possible?

Okay, here is the link to some great TV ads, check it out!:

You have no idea how badly the people in this forum--or any SW forum--want ROTS to be good. The track record with TPM and AOTC doesn't leave one very hopeful, however. For two movies we've heard/read/seen "great visuals, boo-awful dialogue, hideous acting, idiotic story logic", and we're expected to swallow it with no protest for the third time? And the real shame of it is, it didn't have to be this way. sad.gif

But what do you think of those spots I gave you a link to?

I actually like Hayden`s acting, and McDiarmid is stunning!

That latest trailer is IMHO the best one yet. It actually conveys a fitting sense of tragedy and drama. But I still doubt you'll be able to see past the flaws, which judging by the spoilers are pretty major.

P.S.  HK, *LOVE* your new image at the bottom.  I snarfed my RC cola when I saw the muppets.  Priceless.

Yeah, it's my favorite SW parody too. I did a bit of snarfing the first time I saw it. smile.gif

I've seen several spots on TV; just watched the "End of War" one. I'm still not impressed.

I'd give anything to be thrilled, inspired and humbled by greatness in a movie. I never asked to feel betrayed, insulted and despised by George Lucas's creations. I have to live with my sick feeling of dread at watching the series crumble before my eyes for the rest of my life. Is this good? Should I just "shut up and eat my cold oatmeal, kid"?

There's no shortage of people to pat Lucas on the back and praise him for what he never really did in the first place. If he really was a genius he'd have won me over when I was wide open at the start. Every coin has two sides, and everyone is transparent to someone else. Nobody can do it alone. The vision has to come from a single person, but they don't bring the torch of new life and hope to the community for all to see and expect it to end there. From that point on, what was one person's vision becomes a community's renewal, and all partake of the bread of life.

George has snatched back that torch, and declared "why shouldn't I keep it? The ring is mine it came to me!!!!".

No, no, no.

Trust me, as you once did. Let it go, Indy. Let it go.

In the meantime, I'll stand on the mountain and shine so all folk can see it. Cause lookin' at the junk that's coming, a hard rain's a gunna fall.

Rangwe, didn`t I see you in the Warhammer forum complaining about Green Ronin`s new edition in the same melodramatic way?

But I like your style, it is quite funny.

And we just have diffent taste, let it be, variety is a great thing.

""Very, very harsh, but nonetheless truthfull.""

Have you watched the movie? No. You haven't. It makes embarassed when I see you all saying it is true, when you haven't seen the damned movie yet. Why not give it a chance? Every movie with potential deserves a chance. But you guys are in here bashing it, while not having seen it yet. Don't you know how immature this makes you look? I see where you are coming from... But GIVE IT A CHANCE. If you keep telling yourselves it is going to be bad, then even if it is good, you won't be able to see the good.

Finally some good attitude!

I have read many opinions from people who didn`t like AOTC and TPM, and they were awed by ROTS!

Ten thousand dollars, at the drop of a hat. I'd give it all if our lives could be like that. But our chances were really a million to one.

Can you look me in the eye and my malice and say with a straight face to yourself, "I am that person at this very moment." Is variety *really* a good thing, if it includes evil?

Can you say "yes" to life by saying "yes" to evil?

You are Luke, standing on the precipice, hand cut off and beaten. You've just found out who your father/image of Star Wars/image of WFRP is....not a good man/franchise/game at all.

It isn't a lie - it is the TRUTH. Your choices are join the Dark Side or jump to your death.

Voices on a forum are saying "stop being negative, join me and I will complete your training. It is the only way."

What do you do?

Bravo to Travers!

How could anyone possibly believe that the man who wrote and directed the first two prequels will suddenly capture the gift of storytelling this time around? It ain't happening.

But there were elements of good storytelling in AOTC and TPM, Primetime!

Honestly, I can't think of a single thing that made a wit of sense in either prequel. Not one scene. From midiclorians to JarJar to that pod race to Maul just standing there while Obi flips over him . . . And where do you start with AOTC?

I can already see that the biggest problem with ROTS is in Anakin's turn to the dark side. I won't give it away, but it's just not believable. The good critics are picking up on this.

The only way I'd think this film had even a chnace of coming close to the original trilogy would be if someone else had written and someone else had directed. That didn't happen.

Anakin`s turn is very well done according to my information, I am really spoiled.

But it seems we won`t agree on this.

I just don't think someone turns to the dark side overnight. In fact, the way they make it seem in ROTJ and now ROTS is like you're a free agent and you're basically making a handshake agreement to join the bad guys.

VADER: "Luke, give yourself to the dark side."

EMPEROR: "Give in to your hatred."

LUKE: "No . . . Well, then again, why the hell not?"

(sometime later) LUKE: "Uh, hey guys . . . Do you have anything that can keep the hatred going? I don't know, like a pill or something? Maybe some breathing exercises? I'm just not feeling this hatred thing. What am I supposed to be so angry about? Now dad, you, I guess I can understand. I mean, some Tuskan Raiders killed your mom and you never really had a father figure except for creepo here and the jedi were mean to you and your only true love died giving birth to me . . . "

Yes, I agree; we'll just have to agree to disagree. I just would have preferred something more subtle in anakin's conversion. smile.gif
