I personally think that Marijuana should be legalised, if only to stop people making sly comments about it, then nudging and winking at me, as they presume that because I have long hair and listen to 'alternative' music, I must only take a break from getting stoned to pour cocaine into my ears.

Wouldn't that be stereotyping, then? unsure.gif

Oh yeah, it's stereotyping of the worst kind.

Especially as I'm now completely clean (I used to drink and smoke, now I don't do those either), and I hate people presuming I do drugs. Even more so when they don't believe me when I tell them I don't.

Well, that's unfortunate. Just because you have long hair and such doesn't neccessarily make you a hippie. sad.gif

I get that sometimes, too. Apparently all art students do drugs. Right...

But I don't think it would be a good idea to legalise drugs, and I seem to be very alone on this. Not only is it unhealthy for the user, but it also creates situations where it's dangerous for the innocents around the users. I'm not going to get in on the marijuana thing, though... Too complicated and too many people get offended.
I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

Legalising drugs?

I read a story about a gang who stole legally prescribed drugs from a care home. They too got put into a care home from the effects of what they took.

Well, that's more because they probably took more than the prescribed dosage, rather than the drugs actually being illegal. It's a thin line to cross. unsure.gif

Yes, that's my point, it doesn't have to be illegal as people can still kill themselves by taking too much. This group I remember reading had addictions on randomly robbing care homes of their drug stocks. Now they being robbed of their own lives in a care home brought on by themselves.

Similar thing is happening with alcohol in certain places where they drink themselves to death. In France I read the restrictions are slack and young people are allowed to consume alcoholic drinks. I don't read or hear of people drinking themselves out on the streets like they do in certain other countries.

I learned the hard way with no interference from people below the legal age from one instance. Now I don't over drink alcoholic drinks as I learn't what would happen and the effects 10 years ago.

I've had a couple of sips here and there, but I'm not yet old enough to know what full-blown drunkeness really feels like. dry.gif

It's not remotely fun, and if you're not drunk, all of the drunk people around you seem like idiots. Don't bother. Just stick to a few drinks, no more, if any. Moderation is where it's at.

Yeah. drunk people are the very definition of moronic when you're sober. For example:

I didn't say it was fun. I just liked the taste of a type of rum but I got too greedy from 10 years ago. I learn't my lesson with a stomach ache "like I was going to die" the next day after going to bed early the night before, feeling sick all over the carpet and falling unconcious. When I woke up early that morning I was wondering why the carpet was wet, different bed sheets and clothing.

After that lesson I got the information I need to not abuse my body again quickly in that way.

No I did not find it fun within itself and I did not act stupidly. I felt so dissy with hallucinations I had a bath and went to bed early.

Apart from the experience of "Pleasure and pain."
Pleasure to over drink the rum.
Pain afterwards.

Similar to some people who take drugs:
Pleasure to take drugs.
Pain to cope with the effects?
And in some cases vegetables in care homes.

Virtually all illegal drugs have deleterious effects on your brain. There's no need to make them legal, and the government should do more to restrict people's access to them.

They are addictive substances usually produced by criminal operations, and cause abberant behavior and health risks.
Tolerance is another word for Apathy

The sad thing I hear are the mental hospitals that force feed drugs to patients that they don't need. I am not sure if the drugs there are prescribed or illegal to openly buy.
