And they did use it wisely. ONCE. How do you feel that they used it again when Annie was running away from home on his (although I presume he "borrowed" it from Owen) nifty bike?

I thought that was a complete rule breaker. You can't re-use cool music in another movie that is unrelated from its initial use. If Annie were to fight MAul again, maybe. But that piece should remain vested in its original context. Argue it is a pivotal moment in Annie's destiny so it is appropriate. Go ahead. Argue it. It won't change the fact that it is lazy and cheap to use it again.

This is one of Williams' most powerful pieces for a long time. Ya didn't have to go and whore it ouot didja? DIDJA? Yup. Yudid.

Could Otis' theme form Superman: The Movie be used when Richard Pryor shows up in Supes III? How about the Ark of the Covenant's them being used when they find the Grail? Or Doctor Who's them being used in The HitchHicker's Guide to the Galaxy?

I could go on.

I don't really remember DotF being used in EP2. I mean I know it was there but the scene wasn't as dramatic as in ep2. The saber battle from EP2 was the climax of a film that blew my dog. However it did look cool if you ignored the fact that it was completely pointless. And it built tension what with the switching of scenes. The pace of Duel builds during the song so it worked very well for that sequence.

However it should not have been used for Anakin whining at a hundred miles an hour. That didn't build any tension at all. The movie had pretty much told us she was dead. Even though there was no medical reason for her death or reason the sand people would have killed her. In movies where Lucas will go to any length to tie in OT characters he couldn't be bothered to tie in the death of an important character?

"Anakin, your mom has been kidnapped for no reason. Luckily Chewbacca is here from fighting in the clone wars, why don't you go see if you can get her back in a side quest that has nothing to do with anything."

I don't know about you but I have never advocated that homosexuals, for any reason, be cut out of their mother's womb and thrown into a bin.
