Rhubes, indeed my posts are! Well they were at least. C'est la vie.

Choosing yuor deck, for me, is a big thing, if you can't stand the art or images (especially on a deck where there are just images of Orlando Bloom being pretty!) it won't do it. It might give hints orsomething to that effect, but it will never really do it for you. I hated my first deck, found it too disrespectful trying to say everything was going to be just fine. I don't need that, I need an honest one, so I bought the fantastical tarot. The images are very different, but they speak to me. That's what I think you need to be able to really read the cards. Every deck has it's own chinks and subtle differences.

I'll increase my work output to get you in as soon as possible. 'Till then:
the Chyldking.

1. Five of Cups
2. The Hierophant
3. Ten of Pentacles
4. The Emperor
5. Five of Pentacles
6. The Tower
7. Queen of Cups
8. Queen of Pentacles
9. Page of Wands
10. Eight of Cups

The past hasn't been very eventful, has it? In comparison with what's on the horizon, I wouldn't think it was. Mostly, you've been dealing with loneliness and feeling worn out and slowly, or very suddenly, you were yanked out of that pattern and granted safety. A happy place where money isn't really one of your worries, atleast you always have enough to keep yourself save.

Yet now, the pain in your heart lingers. It might not hurting at all times, but it's still very much controlling your life. And there, hovering over you, maybe pulling some strings, is an influential figure, one with spiritual or religious connections. Someone you find wise, someone that you always listen to when giving out advice. He'll be trying to guide you to a better place.

Another influential figure awaits around the corner. A very powerful and intelligent one. This isn't someone you want to argue with, he's always correct and always gets his way. Be prepared to have your live stolen from you to serve this person's agenda. It is someone who means well though. Maybe a father figure. Be vigilant all the same Chyldking. Disaster looms over the horizon. The tower floats on dark clouds just waiting to crumble on top of you and your world.

The place where you'll find yourself might not be a place, but a person or exploring a part of you forgotten or lost. I see possible vanity and withdrawal from reality in order to regain the pleasurable side of the emotional world. Romance, naivity and dreams getting some sunshine. Might also represent a female that possesses those qualities.

When others look at you, the see someone dependable and caring. Even a nurturer. Someone in touch with the very real issues of the world. They also seem to find you have the ability to fall into a crowd with relative ease.

You fear being out there, searching for something alone for too long. A search for a goal or maybe a possible partner in a place, that while not barren, appear to be without all signs of fruit. Time, I feel, is a big part of this fear.

The outcome of the reading is, that you'll propably abandon something you care about. You'll shy away from it/him/her and miss it, adding spilled cups in your wake. Might be involuntary abandonment, but the cup will stack up. It will strengthen one of your major influences in life.

So, what's it take to get a general reading? Besides asking?

Rhubarb!

1. The Emperor
2. Judgement
3. Seven of Pentacles
4. King of Cups
5. Five of Wands
6. Page of Cups
7. Ten of Coins
8. Ace of Coins
9. Nine of Wands
10. The Hermit

It seems that you've been juggling about creative projects in the past. Trying to keep several floating at the same time. An act that is very close to impossible, but in the latter days, you've been reaping some just rewards for your work. It is appropriate to the effort you put into it. I would assume that you've finished a project that's been crawling around there for some time.

You yourself however... Extremely intelligent (which is rather obvious if one bothers to read most of your posts) you have also a power you can throw about yourself that can prove quite handy. Your tounge is a fierce weapon to be feared. You are crossed by judgement. A card I have little or no experience with. From what I've heard it's all about rebirth, renewal, reevaluation. The re-things. Basicly, what crosses you nowadays is that you feel like you've lost something. Control, yourself, ambitions. Something!

On the horizon are two individuals, or one that seems to change as you get to konw him/her. There is a man, a kind dreamer that's out there. Bad thing is that... his mind is also somewhere out there. Reality has little or no connection to him. His emotions control him and run him around in his dreamland. The latter one is a naive cheerful lad that is very much in touch with his emotions. His life is full of sunshine and goodness. He has a lust for life and he follos his emotions where they tell him to go. A hopeless romantic.

Where you find yourself is a place of great stability and lack of worries. There will be no "only noodles" weeks, in those times your inner colours will shine through. There might even be moments of you running around throwing coins in the air in the middle of the forest, but that's just me reading too much into the cards. Your surroundings and the present state are at the infant stage of that path. There's a long way to tossing coins at the trees.

You fear piling up your projects. It relates to the juggling. You fear that you'll just start so many you'll never ever finish any of them, especially the ones you like the best.

The outcome is vague, very very vague. You need to check up on yourself Rhubarb. Check where you're going. Check what you want and check up on those projects, what projects matter, what projects don't? It will be hard and painful, but it beats using a flashlight.

Ninjaduck: Since we have extremely limited posting at each other experience, it would assist me getting a story to go along with the reading. Something to allow me to connect with you.

I recommend 'Little Red Riding Hood' or 'Goldielocks and the Three Bears'.

Icey - Yeah, this deck keeps telling me really awful things. I got really depressed last night after doing a couple of readings because they were just indicating disaster and deceit and betrayal right across the board, exactly all the things I was particularly worrying might come to pass. Pessemistic as I am, I couldn't help but get a bit suspicious after a bit. I'll try to get hold of a more traditional pack.

My deck isn't merchandise from the LotR movie, it's some hippie thing with ugly paintings of the characters and fucked up symbolism because they keep trying to apply situations/characters to the various cards and sometimes they don't quite fit. It'd be great for a comparative essay, but not for actual cards.

Anyway. The reading. I am indeed juggling many projects lately, although I certainly haven't finished any particular one or anything like that, so I'm not sure what that refers to... I'm very much ruled by Judgement in a lot of ways, which I was talking to someone about the other day, and yeah, my main griefs at the moments are all related to various losses, mostly emotional, although I won't go into details. Seems a bit vague, but fair enough if you aren't all that familiar with the card.

The two individuals confused me, because I don't know *anyone* who might be this "very much in touch with his emotions. His life is full of sunshine and goodness" person (although the first one could be any number of people). It makes a *bit* more sense if applied to two aspects of one person, but not all that much. If you have the time, and if it's possible, could I have a brief elaboration on that?

Cointossing at trees sounds nice. And all this 'juggling' and 'piling up' stuff and having to make decisions about them could well relate to problems I've had with my application portfolio. tongue.gif As well as other stuff, in a more metaphorical sense.

I'd be really interested to see how you got your conclusions from those cards. I wouldn't expect you to type the whole process up or anything, but it'd be cool to see.

My conclusions Rhubarb? I just looked at the cards and tried my best to interprit them without that damnable book. It's been holding me back y'see. This has freed my hands to a new degree, I am no longer feeling tied to a certain path.

Anyway, on the topic of the King and Page of Cups. It's just odd that I drew two court cards of the cup, so they struck me as a unity. Two sides of the same coin or a father/child thing. It might also be an evolution of someone that you care deeply about, seeming to become more naïve but happy as he/she returns back to reality with a new outlook on things.

Never do that, if I'd invert them, I'd have no idea what they were supposed to mean. It's very much a personal thing if you invert or not.

What? If you invert a card, its entire meaning changes. Do you mean deliberately inverting them, or drawing them inverted? I'm pretty sure it's a standard for tarot to let your cards be inverted or not as you draw them...

Edit: That is, don't mess with them, let them come as they are. And inverted is reversed/upsidown, right?

The inverted ones aren't a standard. It's an optional thing some do. A lot of those that I've spoken to that do Tarot don't invert them, say it detracts from the reading and complicates matters too much. Because the way I am reading, at the moment, I just look at the pictures and see what they're going for... What the hell am I supposed to think if the image is upside down?

It's for some people, just not for me.
