I'm a fourteen year old girl. I've recently started a new school, and have had my first collapse due to stress a bit earlier than I expected. The workload is enormous and the teachers grade so that the average is a C. The problem with this is that I go to school with very intelligent people, so a C is about what I can manage, though I'm doing more C+/B- ish right now. I'm used to getting A's so it's a bit of a blow. Personalitywise I don't like strangers, happy peppy people who snub me annoy me, but that's probably pretty reasonable. Last year there was a lovely episode in my life where I started taking Concerta, which then made me completely unhinged and snappish. Oddly enough, though, I learned to draw pretty well above average for my age. Given my hideously awful fine motor skills and a hand eye coordination that has been tested at less than 1st percentile, I shouldn't be able to do that. I'm not quite sure what happened there. I like to do creative writing, I'm awful with organization of any kind and I hate organized assignments. I tend to accumulate either very nice or very honest friends, and as of yet, have not been romantically attracted to anyone, so I suppose I'm a bit behind there. I like plants a lot, but have a strange inability to keep them alive... *realizes she's rambling* Er, yeah. Sorry I took so long.

Mirithorn:

I did a Pentacle spread for you. I felt it was fitting your particular question, as it deals more with a specific external problem than anything internal.

Card 1: your inner situation. The Devil.
Card 2: the direction in which you are going. 8 of Swords.
Card 3: obstacles which will arise. The World, reversed.
Card 4: how to overcome these obstacles, the path an dpurpose you should pursue in order to take control of your situation. 9 of Wands.
Card 5: your outcome, should you heed this advice. Death.

okay. this looks to me like a very good reading, though it took me a bit of time to put it together. individually, the cards don't make a whole lot of sense, but together... well, judge for yourself.

your inner situation - The Devil: you're feeling trapped. you feel like you can't get out of your problem, you feel like it's bearing down on you and you'll never escape. maybe you're even feeling hopeless. you're operating within the boudaries of someone else's limitations, and that makes you feel like crap.

the direction in which you are going - 8 of Swords: incredibly, this card continues with the idea of a trapped feeling, but goes on to say that you're not really doing what you should be doing to get out of it. you're feeling trapped by your circumstances, but because you don't know which way to turn, you're waiting for outside help. you're hoping someone or something else will solve your problem for you because you feel so overwhelmed by it.

obstacles which will arise - the World, reversed: you will, if you're not already, feel like you're not a part of a group, like you're alone. you want to be involved, be a part of something, to experience a feeling of wholeness, maybe even use your talents to help someone or some cause. but you are/will be feeling as if while the rest of the world/school/whatever is united, you're set outside of that group.

how to overcome, path to pursue, etc. - 9 of Wands: the key word here is "perserverance." expect the worst, but keep your resolve and persist through any and all setbacks. it doesn't sound like much fun, but be like the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail! "it's only a flesh wound! I'll bite your knees off!" in other words, work your butt off, despite feeling like shit, cuz that's the only way things will get better.

outcome - Death: you're going to die.

just kidding. Death actually rarely signifies an actual death. Death signifies a change, usually a really significant one. so, this is your silver lining. there's gonna be a big change. you may not see it at first, because it's probably going to be a gradual one, but things will change. IF - this is a big if - you continue to persevere, like the above card advised. if you try to just coast through, or just give up, things are going to stay the same, or even get worse, I would imagine. it's kind of common sense, really. in fact, I doubt this reading really helped you at all, it kinda just told you what I'm sure you already knew.

but there you are, and I hope things improve for you.

Life's depressing, get used to it. wink.gif

The reading was an interesting read, good job Slade's Girlfriend. The Monty Python reference kicks arse.

Well, it's nice to have a definitive statement on doing homework on time. If the tarot cards tell me to do it, it must be true. Thank you, Slade's Girlfriend, and thank the oracle, or whatever it's called with tarot cards- the cards themselves?

If anyone would like an ogam reading I'd be glad to do it, by the way. Just trying to give something in return- if it's inappropriate for this board, I apologize.

Mirithorn, I would love getting an ogam reading, also I would love it if you could take us through all the steps of that.

Marky!

You: King of Cups
Crossing you: Ace of Wands
Below you: Page of Cups
Above you: Ten of Cups
Behind you: Six of Cups
Ahead of you: Knight of Cups
Where you'll find yourself: Page of Swords
Your surroundings: Two of Cups
Hopes/Fears: The High Priestess
Outcome: Eight of Cups

Music: The Dune Soundtrack

Marky, things aren't looking too good, I think. The cards aren't all bad mind you, but they do suffer from a lot of depressive facets.

The past speaks of loving or caring much for something or someone, propably an object or a dream. Something you truly cherish. I can't say what it is, but I'll get back at 'it' later. Then we have the Page of Cups, an idealistic young man/woman, propably you though, so a man. That follows his heart and lets it take decisions for him.

The now/you is represented by the King of Cups, that suggests maturing, he's a dreamy kind man. One that lets his dreams grow, while he chases it. He does hold the Ace of Wands in his hand though, so that suggests that you have the chance of doing SOMETHING, the opening of launching a project (or this dream) is there. In your hand.

In the nearby future there is.... Like an emotional... Tranquility, inner peace. It's the only way to read this card, except if it speaks of the butterfly effect, then you're about to launch a hurricane. Which might explain the Knight of Cups. The man of action. The lover that embraces the warrior side of him to fight for just that. Love. So I would think that ties in with the Cherished object, ideal or dream mentioned previously and the Wand.

Where you'll find yourself, is the Page of Swords, pretty much a polar opposite of the Page of Cups. He oozes loneliness, determination and hurt. All he has, is the sword. The Icon of Struggle and Wit.

The world around you, is represented by the Two of Cups, card usually attached to lovers, marriages and romantic entanglement. They might tie into the Page of Swords, pushing you into that role. It might be people and comrads doing the common meaning of this card, but it might very well be people you know succeeding at giving birth to their brain babies, while you're still watching from the bench.

Fears and Hopes is an interesting card. It's a teacher figure, she might be someone you're hoping for as a teacher, a wise person, seasoned. Someone that knows his/her shit.

The outcome isn't the best one of the bunch, again we come to the Cups. This time however, it foretells abandonment of something you hold dear or something... You cherish. We've come back to square one, somewhere along the way, whatever you might have been searching for grew too far beyond your reach, withered, grew sour. Spilled milk from the future.

Read the thread. Also, please do not post so bloody often, every other post on this page has been by you, adding... nigh nothing, mostly because you didn't read anything but the latest post. I feel that's kind of disrespectful.

I have a special love for this thread, so this kind of stuff depresses me.
