"What is the greatest of all games?" someone asked me on the street the other day. Without hesitation I said Fallout 2. Now on to the thread.

Tic Tac Toe

It is awsome in how a 3 year old can play yet a 30 year old still cannot master it. So simple yet complex at a completely differant time. You can play with yourself or play with a friend, either way you get loads of enjoyment for a small amount of time and feel the urge to play again. We all know the rules, put down an X then an O. Repeat till you get three in a row.

So howabout a game.

We will do this as so:
  1. I will put up a crappily drawn MSpaint tic tac toe board on the thread.
  2. You save that pic to somewhare then put down your X/O using another crappy MSpaint equivilant.
  3. You then upload the edited pic to an image storing site like imageshack (I have donated 5$ to them for all the wasted space we will take up).
  4. Then you just link it up to here (try not to get cliped).
  5. Above rules added for the computer illiterit.
  6. You pick one side in a game, you are what you picked for the rest of the game (play with your self on your own time).
  7. Any blatent cheatery will just be ignored.
  8. I am a genious.

I'll start:

Let's see if this idea rockets to the moon or chrashes like the hindenberg.

I'm betting on crash. That is far too much work for me to play that game. If I wanted to I could spend 10 minutes and work out the pattern to win and reduce the game to manipulating finite states, but I found Discrite Math boring and if I'm not going to make paint tictactoe boards, I'm not going to write a treatise on how to win every time.

And you totally start with crosses, man, not noughts.

Curses, another plot foiled.

Oh well, maybe someone else will play along.

I REFUSE to play this game until someone refers to it by its proper name of "Noughts and crosses" you damn Americans.

And sorry Kirb, but I'll have to go with Slade on this one. I'm pretty sure this thread will be dead and buried by this time next week. I'll be sure to remember to give it the customary ten minutes of silence though.

I had no idea you were supposed to start with crosses, Slade.

Mate, you place a cross, so that we can distinguish between yours and his moves. Hence the title naughts and crosses tongue.gif

Heh. You're the man, jaritan. And VD, I did use noughts and crosses!

Yeah, the first player is always the crosses, and the second player is always the noughts.

tic-tac-toe is sorta boring. What you need to play is four in a row. Just likeTTT, but you get 4 instead of 3, and the board goes on forever.

I once worked out a rather simple and foolproof method of winning at tic tac toe every time, but alas, it has gone the way of my best friend from the third grade's telephone number and my ability to do long division.
