Yeah, hope you start to feel better. And the article on the confessions was brilliant. Haven't laughed like that for quite awhile.

I agree. It was an excellent piece of writing.

Ending up in hospital is quite an achievment. But how you can get so drunk off of beer is rather confusing.

Christ on a motorbike, I've been mightily pissed in my time, but that was quite a spectacular tale. Mind you, the worst I've managed is a trawl across a muddy field with my brother, complete with nearly losing my useless brick-like phone.

Still, hopefully you've recovered from all these exciting maladies.

And Sime, we all know all bets are off when pitchers come into play. My best mate downed one on his birthday pub crawl, and he mysteriously vanished afterwards. Although he didn't end up in hospital, he just ended up naked and covered in writing.

The best drink based misadventures are always the ones you can't remember. In the last month I've managed to leave big cuts on my face on two different occasions - one of which my mate told me I'd flallen over after getting kicked out of a club, the second I remember telling someone I'd walked into a tree, but I don't actually remember the actual aforementioned tree based incedent.

I've even got some scars from my drinking legacies but I'd do it all again. Noting like getting bevved up with a load of mates.

On a making this conversation an interesting topic note, as this seems to be a bit of an international forum what's your local views on heavy drinking? Over here in britain it's pretty acceptable and on the underage front although the legal age is 18 most kiddies are getting served in pubs around 17ish or a bit before.

Legal age is 18 here in Australia. They generally check for ID, as I usually get carded(which is rather embarrassing, but I guess looking younger is a good thing). As for how drinking's looked upon, that's an interesting subject. Generally, you're not considered a proper Australian if you don't drink a lot of beer. But the media seems to be trying to crack down on alcoholism, especially youth drinking.

Legal age is 16 in Germany. 18 for the hard stuff. Usually it doesn't matter if you're looking young or old, since you can get it one way or the other anyway.
We recently had some problems with so called 'alcopops', although I never understood how those kiddies managed to get drunk with that stuff...

Come to think about it...

And thats why most Austalians are obviously decended from Scots, I know my uncle was one of those Auzzie-Scots. Obviously Britain is famous for its booze culture, its pretty hard not to notice given there are pubs on most streets, if not two, or three, maybe 5. And a few bars. And a nightclub or two.
