I am also very happy that the thread is back... Let me just add something from the rencent interview with Lucas is Cannes...

Here is what the "difficult student" said:

"But he [Lucas] was bullish about the tepid critical reception of the more recent Star Wars films.

"I see it all as one movie; I don't pay much attention whether people like individual chapters or not," he said.

"There are two groups of fans for my films: one group over 25, and the other under 25. The people in their 30s and 40s love the first three, and they are in control of the media and the web.

"The more recent ones are fantastically adored by people under 25 and the devotion of each group is about equal ... but one group can express themselves more loudly than the others."

Question: Cheflef, are you "in control of the media and the web"?
Are you - and most of us - really louder than the millions and millions who flocked to see TPM and AOTC?

And it looks to me that all the control of the web and media is in the hands of under 25, then, judging from the amount of hype the films generated.

Well, media actually like ROTS so far! So it might just be the lack of quality in first two prequels!

And yes, children mostly loved TPM! Including Jar Jar!

Which is why TPM was made. It was classic Star Wars moments and story. It wasn't made to automatically start off Anakin as someone who is already being pressured by Palpatine to turn to the dark side. Then things wouldn't make sense at all. He had to starts somewhere.

Two-One-Bee the medical droid applied the mask to Luke's face after Luke was taken out of the bacta tank (following the Wampa attack). I think the mask was supposed to be some kind of special healing bandage.

Anyway, that scene is shown in the Marvel graphic novelization of The Empire Strikes Back. Must have been cut from the movie.

Good stuff despondent - I think I have/had that booking kicking around at home somewhere... as for the interview with George, I couldn't get over the fact that he wasn't wearing a flannelette in the photo.
