Personally, as cheery a chap as the last pope seemed, I can't get my head around the fact that more vitriol was not spewed about this man's human rights record.

Practically 'outlawing' contraception to millions of people, many of whom reside in one of the poorest and most AIDS afflicted parts of the world.

Claiming "Jesus only had male disciples, I see no reason to disagree"

Living a life of unbelievable opulence, supported by the tithes and gifts of many on or below the poverty line

Like most religions, Catholisicm has a lot going for it, 'The Pope copyright' was not one of them.

nuns, priests, monks, don't have sex...

but where in the bible does it say that one must abstain from sex to serve god (who invented sex, according to all religious documentation)?

the catholic church made up alot of things...

worshiping on sudays, decembre 24, etc. many of their traditions stem from pagan religions back in the day... the catholic church cashed in on what was popular to get numbers, then started charging for sins...

now it's hale mary's instead of coin, but that's another thing. no where in the bible is the notion that mary is someone to pray to...

the bible outlaws praying to humans, and considers all attepts to comunicate with the dead; necromancy.

I think it's high time the catholic church, stop enforcing it's bullshit on the rest of the world. that goes for most churches, but they really take it to extreme hieghts...

My understanding of the Hail Mary is that we are petitioning Mary, who is free from sin, to plead our case to God for us, as it would look better coming from her.

Ha. Yeah, that's probably the best summing up I've seen.

Siggified!
