Sorry for the absense for the last week or so. KotOR2 + Adventure in the Galaxy of Fantabulous Wonderment + Morrowind = Me be gone.

QUOTE (SithAvenger @ Jul 29 2005, 01:06 PM)
I am currently playing Conker: Live and Reloaded. I was a big fan of BFD so I had to buy this game and I have to say that even if I miss the good ol' multiplayer the new one rocks! I can't wait till' I get Xbox Live.

Are there any Conker fans here? Maybe it's time to start a thred about Conker.

Slade and myself have been known to quote Conker from time to time, but having no XBox, I'm strictly BFD. But still, I love that game.

QUOTE (Chyld @ Jul 29 2005, 03:01 PM)
I just got me a Master System! Henceforth, I've been back a-dabbling with Sonic, Alex Kidd and Populous. Hopefully the latter two ring enough bells for me not to have to explain.

I found my old Master System 2 the other day. Man, those games were harder then I remember them, or maybey it's because the buttons don't work too well. I seem to have Sonic 2, Golden Axe, Wolfchild, Jungle Book, Taz-Mania and of course Alex Kidd.

We used to have Populous 2 on our Amiga 2000, but I could never figure out what to do. Hell, I didn't even realise I was playing as a god, and couldn't work out why I couldn't directly control my people.

QUOTE (floppydisk @ Jul 31 2005, 11:29 PM)
Most likely.

After getting my paycheck, I managed to nick Eternal Darkness for seven bucks. It's basically a RE style game, but if your sanity gets too low, the game starts messing with your mind.

Eternal Darkness is among the hallowed God's of video games. It's ten shades of brilliant.

I have to concur with Sime. ED == bloody kickass.

And I also found my copy of Afterlife (Think Sim Heaven/Hell with deliciously ironic punishments/rewards), and I've been playing it, but the sound and music lag like crazy on Win XPee, and it freezes when I try to install it. I've looked online, but given it's an obscure game, it's hard to find anything that's substantial/actually works. Any good sites around for ressurecting old classics on new platforms that shun the computing days of yesteryear?

Dosbox is damn good. It's running Master's of Orion and Al-Quedim-Genies Curse. It actually runs like real dos.

But I still have trouble with the soundcard stuff. It's like looking at cuthlu himself, filling me with horror and confusion (mostly confusion).

I am always filled with anger when I look at Cthulhu, because he shows up uninvited at parties and then horks all the beer and jets. Get lost, you free loading octopus face!

I'll look into dosbox, though I got Afterlife working by having it run in compatability mode. (I was astonished that it actually did something.) I can now build hell and ignore heaven to my Demiurgal content!

Well, my PS2 finally arrived on Monday, and I finished the pact of selling out. Hence, all three GTA games, and Enter The Matrix. Currently favouring Sans Andreas, because I'm a sucker for being able to customise everything. My CJ has big muscles! thumbsup.gif

EDIT: Succumbed to the lure of the wargames nerd and bought Fire Warrior too. Yet to try it though.

Playing City of Heroes (Pinnacle Server: Name: Sir Moxious) playing a dick. I spend my past times flying over the city and blinding people before I throw them off of roofs.

Great fun!

Sir Moxious is the most awesome superhero I've ever heard of and seen.

And for me: FALLOUT 2 all the way. just killed a shopkeeper for being a jerk and overpricing me and having a .44 revolver. Now I have more than enough guns for everybody! And radiation poisoning. dry.gif

Yeah, post apocolyptic settings will do that to you.

My primary harddrive died, taking all my games with it. But I got my Planescape: Torment disks back, so now that's all thats on my drive.

Sir Moxious, hanging out while waiting for people to verbally assault.

I also have two other heroes rolling around, 2RU7U5, a medival knight that spikes people who is just generally far too anxious to help people, and Vladimir Lenin who abhors all kinds of capitalism and goes on to rant about their evils.

oooooh, I'll get you YET for pushing my mom off that roof!! *shakes fist at Sir Moxious*

Right now, well not RIGHT now, but currently I have time invested in LOTR: return of the King; LOTR: TTT; Parappa 2; Legend of Mana; THPS; Tomb Raider; Crash Team Racing; Crash Bandicoot 1&2; 007: Agent Under Fire; Medal of Honor: Rising Sun; Perfect Dark. And I think that's it. Do I have trouble finishing things? maybe.

Damn, how can you do all that at once? I only ever play one game at a time. How else can you get hooked on something. This explains why Resident Evil 4 is sitting unopened on my desk. I got it on special, and it will stay closed until I'm finished with P:T.

But can Sir Moxious defeat his arch nemisis, the super villian Lord Xento, know for littering the city with bouncy castles, mattresses and other soft objects which break falls?

Yes by blinding him and guiding him off a peer. None of his stupid soft objects will save him from drowning!

My next game will probably be Ace Combat 5

My advice for the fire truck/ambulance missions, if you haven't already done 'em, is find one of the small villages out in the country or the desert and do them there. Makes it much easier.
