I used to have Shogun:TW, but never played the real time bits. I liked it for the chess-style part. Either way, I am strictly not touching it until I'm done with Bloodlines.

You're still playing Tiger Woods? I have another over looked sports game for you chef, TENNIS.  Go grab a new TENNIS game, they never disappoint.  Golf and Tennis are never talked about, not as much as Basketball or football, but they are just as fun.

Not STILL. Before I was playing TW 2004. Now I'm playing TW 2005. wink.gif

Tiger Woods is just really well done. The play on Xbox Live sucks though. EA did a terrible job getting that game online. It's so glitchy that it's pretty much unplayable, even if you're just playing a laid back game against a friend.

Still, it's one of those rare games that is WELL worth the $50 price tag. Hundreds of hours of playability there.

Never understood the lure of golf games myself, or golf for that matter.

Except for Simgolf, and monkey golf, which was created by the devil himself.

Shhhh! Don't the part of my brain that controls impulse purchases here you, If I buy that game my social life will be in tatters.

Do the new features in AW2 add enough to the game to jusitfy it? All I saw were a few new CO's and a new tank.

I had to stop playing Tiger Woods Chef, at least for the time being. I just found myself playing for hours on end and ignoring my other games that needed attention.

Well I never played the first game, so i'm not sure exactly how it compares. The CO's now have (kind of irratating) special powers, and I think theres only one new unit (the neotank). I expect theres all new maps though. I know what you mean about it eating into your social life. I bought it just to play on a particulary gruelling flight, but now i'm on it all the time pinch.gif

I'm still stuck on the advanced campaign, if I complete that, I finally get Nel as a playable CO.

The original was well balanced on the CO powers front, only 3 got out of hand (Eagles double turn, Grits Sniper, and Max's unstoppable 200% attack. devil.gif ), but the rest were pretty even. The first game bought for the GBA, AW remains the best today. One for the top 20 games of all time list.

Fire emblem's by the same developers and looks similar, I just haven't had the free time to get round to playing it yet.

Well, in AW2, all the new stuff is several new COs, a new tank that kills the play balance, and there's a map editor, plus a ton of new maps.

I'm currently playing Jade Empire, FFVII, FFX, and Baten Kaitos.

Oh, and Chef, I love me some Tiger Woods Golf (affectionately known as "Tiger Woo" at my house).

How's Jade Empire. It looked really good, except that it's for XBox. Rather a large stumbling point for me.

I was addicted to this game for a while, although as of late I've not been playing it as religiously.

I think Jade Empire is a great game. The graphics are fantastic (similar in style to Fable). The fighting style/battle system is easy to grasp and quite satisfying. The only issue I've had so far is that (after 40 hrs) the battles do get somewhat repetitious. "A" to attack, "B" to evade, rinse, repeat. But there is still strategy involved, and some really challenging, fun bosses. Load times aren't too bad, considering that the maps are gigantic. I've played about 40 hrs so far, and from what I've heard, I'm about 2/3 done.

It would be a good game to rent, since you could feasibly complete it in a weekend (plus maybe a day or two), as long as you didn't do every single sidequest. It has replay value too, since you can -just like Fable- be good or bad, follow different paths, fall in love with different people, and get a different ending sequence.

Oh, and one of the voice actors is John Cleese.

Fable's choices were fairly elementary and far too Black and White for my taste...

However, John Cleese, woo!... But he was also in James Bond:The World is Not Enough. Tough call... Either way, I'll wait until Microsoft's money grubbing hands decide to port it to the PC like every other XBox only game out there.
This space for rent. Inquire within.

Speaking of Black and White, I've got to take part in an attempt at the 'Iron Guantlet challenge' of Mr molyneux's 'masterpiece' at the weekend. Play the unpatched version for 15 hours with all decisions made by the mystic 8 ball. (a piece of crap I got free when I pre-ordered the afforementioned 'masterpiece').

God, the things I do to have my name in print.

I just bought Call of Duty: Finest Hour. That's the console version of the PC game. It's a totally new game though, not a port. So far the missions swerve from beautiful to pull-out-my-hair-frustrating. Especially when there's stationary machine guns involved.
