Judging by the movies I've seen, Oblivion is going to kill my system. Which is sad, really, because I really want to play it.

And that is why I enjoy being the brother of a proud owner of an Xbox 360. Of course, when the game comes out it isn't as though I will ever get to play it for another couple of months. So basically I am in the same boat. And no computer in my possestion could possibly handle any modern computer game. sad.gif

Still, I am looking into working in the US Postal Service. The pay is really good if I get in, and I could save up for an extremely tricked out AlienWare PC. smile.gif

Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

you wouldn't be proud if you had to pay for it yourself, Zatoichi. tongue.gif

400 dollars for a slightly upgraded version of an XBox that requires high-end HDTV to even notice a difference, and then XBox's product lineup? Phaw...

You also failed to add "non-Brits" to your list of restrictions.

Hm. nodoby seems to know who is Jeff MInter either...
Anyway, I got myself three cheapo games over the weekend: Orignal Deus Ex, Blood Omen 2 and a funny little game by a Russian developer IDDK called Train Empire. Reminds me of those models of trains that ran on floors - no wonder those got obsolete with computer games. And, despite being quite simple, the game is bloody difficult, too!

Matthew smith is a near legendary programmer from the spectrum era, who went missing at the height of his fame. (check wikipedia)

Jeff Minter's a cult programmer across multiple generations who tends to make games involving llamas.

Let's just say it's tricky to find another guy like Sid Meier who's been around since the beginning and hasn't sold out\screwed up majorly. Chris sawyer was a possibility, but he's got some backlash for cash-whoring rollercoaster tycoon.

Would Jeff Minter be the one behind SimCity 2000 then? I seem to remember an obscene amount of Llamas in that.
The Green Knight, SimeSublime the Puffinesque, liker of chips and hunter of gnomes.
JM's official press secretary, scientific advisor, diplomat and apparent antagonist?

I consulted Wikipedia. So Matthew Smith is the guy who wrote Jet Set WIlly! I am ashamed of myself, because of all people who posted in the Oldies thread I am the only one who mentioned Jet Set Willy, since I am old enough to have owned ZX Spectrum once and play it, so I should know. Well, of course in those days we all got was illegal copies of games ON TAPES and you loaded game by connecting a tape recorder to you ZX Spectrum... And we in the Eastern Block had no idea who wrote those games and no means of finding out (no Wikipedia...)
