- MechWarrior 2
- Megarace (which isn't very good, but I played it a lot when I was younger)
- Star Wars Dark Forces
- Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight

Ohmigod, I used to play all of those games religiously when I was younger. ohmy.gif
Megarace was great way back when. Such a great game. (I wouldn't touch it now, though -- I know its crappiness will ruin my fond memories. lol.)

And don't even get me started on MechWarrior 2 - probably one of the best MechWarrior games ever, IMO.

Dark Forces and Jedi Knight go without saying.

Okay, I'm done now. lol. wub.gif Floppy, you sir, are amazing.

Just got tempted back for a game of Wolfenstein 3D. Comfortable on the laptop:

I like the voices.

Solder:

"Bus Stop!"
"My namen!"

Blue soldier:

Who's bluffing?

Thought of an amazing idea that actually exists. GL Wolf3d. NewWolf and now with the mouse I don't get attacked and can find secrets so easily in the map. Not sure if the map or mouselook options are there in the original game engine.

That does sound really fun.

I've been playing Frets on Fire like crazy, and I've gotten my roommate hooked on it. tongue.gif

I picked up Supreme Commander today. I'm having trouble with the opening level. Not because it's difficult, but because the power keeps going off for some reason. *sigh*

La-Mulana. New-school old-school, challenging, free-exploring. Think about what would happen if someone combined the platforming/exploring elements of the original Metroid with a Japanese counterpart to Indiana Jones who is decidedly Simon Belmontish, wrote it for a computer, gave it a map, and didn't have the size limitations of an NES cartridge.

I'm actually in the middle of that right now. Plyaing it feels like my sanity's slowly being chopped into little pieces, but it's so worth it.

After I'm finished with La-Mulana (if I'll ever make it to the end), I'll have to check out that new Penumbra demo. And Other Worlds, which I've successfully managed to avoid this far, despite all the recommendations I've heard. And I'll have to replay the White Chamber, as they seem to have released a new version with voice actors and more endings since I played it for the first time. And maybe then I'll replay Cave Story, just because it's so awesome.

Yes, lots of freeware games here. That's partly because I'm a cheap bum, partly because my computer hates me and partly because there aren't any great new games for any consoles I own. In other words, Gamecube. Should've bought a PS2 instead...

The voice acting for the White Chamber is quite good...except for the girl. Which sadly makes up for the majority of the games monologues.

Pretty much all of the great games of the last generation are on GameCube. The exclusives are all > PS2's exclsives, with the exception being Shadow of the Collosus, and all of the ports look better because they don't need to run on pitiful hardware.

Yeah, the exclusives are mostly great. But still, I have bought around 15 games for it since I got it around five years ago, and about a half of them are something I could've easily done without. Even if GC has greater quality, I'd be willing to exchange that for the slightly lesser quality and much greater quality of the PS2. Or maybe I should've just got both.

That reminds me, maybe I should replay Twilight Princess. And Sands of Time. Oh gawd, will this never end?

You mean replace quality for greater quantity of inferior titles?

I have a bazillion games I need to finish before I can get them off of my hard-drive. Arcanum, Planescape, Freescape 2, and Darwinia, just to name a few off of the top of my head.

I'm with you on Arcanum. I love the game world, but the character building is just so restrictive. There's so many options, but you get bugger all character points. It's annoying.

Not replace quality. I don't have a PS2 so I can't say for sure, but many of its games that I've managed to play seem just as good as GameCube's best titles. And if not, at least they're only a wee bit inferior. Besides, I'd rather have a wider collection of games than be stuck playing the same five or six over and over again, no matter how good they are. I like variety. And yes, I know I previously mentioned a lot of games I want to replay. But as things are, I don't have a choice other than to play them.

...Am I making any sense here?

... you guys make it sound as if Arcanum was a game of sorts. Can't say that I could follow that train of thought...
