Windows 2003 seems to be outstripped from most of that irritation which makes it easier for me to customize. I don't feel as patronized at least. I left some funny oldies in the Pictures!! Of hilarity thread. Some of which are true today.

Vista..to install, or not to install..that is the question.

Do you NEED Vista?, or do you WANT Vista?

Would having Vista make your computing life much easier?

or is it some sort of status symbol to upgrade to Vista, so that youre not frowned upon by the rest of the computing world as being "outdated".

Hmmm.......

I rather be outdated and comfortable rather than wearing some sort of uniform I don't feel comfortable in. Then I'll go and learn Linux next.

I need it for work, plus I'm getting rather comfortable with some of the new effects and design improvements - I just like it when it goes that way while I'm working. Then there's the support for new technologies. And that's about it.

I only need to fix some minor issues now, then I'll be able to say that I won't have to switch back... it's a pretty nice system so far, needs some work, sure, and the fact that I didn't have to pay for it makes it all the better...

... so, back on topic. I'm playing Anno 1701 from time to time, and I still didn't get around to playing Painkiller - Battle out of Hell. And then there's the good ol' Command'n'Conquer - Red alert waiting to refresh my childhood memories. Ah, Tanya Adams always made my day... and those Chrono Legionaires... "Enjoy life, for we have plenty of time to kill you with." *mad giggle*

I spent the day replaying Tomba on the PSX, after being reminded about it in the other thread. It's still a very well made game, pity it didn't get much notice.

I've just laid my hands on Fable, and I really feel that this Heroes' Guild has to be the most atrociously irresponsible institution I've ever seen. It's like setting up an unholy army of rabid gorillas, teaching them Kravmaga, issuing them Kalashnikovs then unleashing them on the public. How did they come up with this?

Ive heard mixed reviews on Jade Empire for XBox. Some say its a great game, others are calling it sub-par. The local Toys R Us has about 30 copies of it going for $9.99,. need I fork out the cash only to add this title to my already extensive gaming library? ...*sigh*....

Jade Empire is MEH. Think any other Bioware game, except with button-mashing combat and a stilted leveling system in place of RPGish stuff like new weapons or armor or stats. Really, I didn't have that big a problem with the stats and such, it was mostly the button mashing and samey dialogue alignment system that bored me. Do you want open palm (light side in KoToR) or closed fist (dark side)? Be obnoxiously nice for open palm, randomly kill everyone you meet for closed fist. Whee.

I'm currently still working sloooowly on La-Mulana when I have time, and Cubivore, again, when I have time. Vacation and school mean I don't play video games as much anymore.

Is that forum serious? Why is everyone on there 'Friendly'? Kinda creepy...

I've been playing my DS a lot, so Nintendogs and FF3 for that.

I've also been playing Virtua Tennis and Skies of Arcadia on my Dreamcast.

When I can, FF12 on the PS2.

...And finally, Phantasy Star Universe, The Movies, and the Half-Life mod Synergy on the PC. wub.gif

So... I managed to find my way into some sweet old games.

- NOLF
- MechWarrior 2
- Megarace (which isn't very good, but I played it a lot when I was younger)
- Star Wars Dark Forces
- Ultima 1-4
- Shadows of the Empire
- Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight
- Jedi Knight II

All *ahem* magically appeared on my computer somehow. rolleyes.gif

You Sir, are my new idol. All hail thee, for thou art one who hath went through the deepest pits of hell.

But really, I like this game. I think I never dug a game like this before, I usually lose interest in anything after one or two days.
