On the official site...

Jedi Action 1

Jedi Action 2

Unite

Can they feel cheaper? Check out General "Crush them!" Grievous in the "Unite" clip. Most of all I hate the voiceover though. Imagine something similar in a LOTR trailer: "On December 18th, Gandalf will unite MiddleEarth..." This is what Star Wars has come to... yell.gif crying.gif

They all look like crap. Even the sight of Darth Vader is pathetic.

These were the ads GL decided he could use to peddle the l'il kids inot going into a PG13 film. The dialogue is right on for a 8 year old mindset.

"I sense their is a plot against the Jedi."

The TV spots aren't great, but I feel they are better than anything AOTC had.

From what I've seen the OT's trailers weren't so hot either.

It's not all about the hype. Star Wars and ESB captured our imagination and HELD it. For most OT fans, I doubt the previews made much of an impact.

The point is, the PT trailers really HAVE been pretty good, compared to the finished product.

And because the PT commercials are so much more prevalent (Bigger budgets, more distinct commercials and internet availability- besides being news stories...) We have heightened expectations going in. False advertising with a dollop of pandering.

If anything, Heckhouse, we've been duped before. But fine. I'll say it again.

I agree with you completely about the trailers. But for some reason, I feel like Ep. III can pull through and be a decent film.

Can someone tell me this...

The film got a PG-13 rating.

Lucas has told parents not to take their kids because it might be too intense for them...

Then tell me WHY for the love pete, this morning during cartoons were they showing trailers for the film?

What a crock.

Because once kids find out that they're not supposed to see a movie they'll double and treble their efforts to see it. Also Lucas, no doubt, wishes to send a message to the older viewers: "It's not going to be a kiddie film like the first two, trust me! Come back!"

For some reason that reminds me of Basil Fawlty (in Fawlty Towers, if you've ever seen it) pleading with some lost customers to stay at his hotel...

"Don't go. You'll like it here."

What I want to know is why did he gear Episode I so much to the little kids when he wasn't intending Episode III to be "kid friendly"? What was the point of making your target audience for Episode I little kids if you were going to exclude them from the 3rd installment? The man is mad... mad I say.

wink.gif he didn't exclude them. Well not all of them. My nephews at nine, seven, and two loved TPM. My sister's a hard liner movie rating wise. But those with memory (the now 15 and 13 year-old) will get to see it. If not the 8 year old... smile.gif

Call me naive, but I happen to switch the channel here tonite to FOX and lo' and behold, there is ESB! I start watching it and suddenly I realize it's the Special Edition!!!! It was just a force of habit. When television plays the movies... they use to be the OOT. Now it has donned on me that we'll never see the OOT on regular television again.

I was prettty upset and depressed, but I should've expected it, and to top it off, it's such an obvious ploy (I shouldn't be naive about that either as every mainstream film pushes their films this way, too) to promote ROTS.

It was just an awakening that in Lucas' mind, the OOT is dead. I should just know better by now.

That's right. And TV guide listed the date for ESB as (1997.)
