I always thought Kashyyk you brought out both 'y' sounds separately so Kash-ee-icK

But then again I also though Coruscant was Kor-os-kant rather than Kor-a-sant.

I dont mean to be picky, but there are three Ys in Kashyyyk.

Will the Star Wars Insider have a many page profile of the actors who played Itchy and Lumpy the way they do minor characters who have three seconds of screen time? Their impressions of working with Mark, Carrie, and Harrison "I knew he was going to be a BIG star and Mark would be HUGE in voice characterization, and Carrie really BIG into the Peruvian Marching Powder...."

Starwars.com has events of life day as the official SW cannon regarding the Wookies of Kassyyk. Its there, and I wonder if Massa George knows....

Bea Arthur is part of the SW Universe. I find that tough to accept. The could have at least brought in Wurther the bartender from ANH.

I watched the Holiday Special via a bootleg I acquired at a recent local comci convention.

Its as bad as everyone says it is.

Honestly, the only way I could keep going through it was promising myself that if I watch it once, I'll never have to do it again.

At least it wasn't a preachy toy bonanza. And it doesn't allude to be what it isn't.

Bea Arthur and Palpatine. There's a power duo.

Well, since its Star Wars related, you would at least expect it to be somewht quality material.

It pains me to watch it.

IT PAINS ME.

Well, Star Wars material isn't good anymore. What were you expecting?

What was I expecting from Star Wars material circa 1978? Quality.

However, it's law that after a New Hope, everything Star Wars became worse (unless it was directed by Irvin Keshner).

No, it wasn't even up to the license quality of the kenner toys. But it was an example of SW material in the wrong hands.

By the SE's, the man George Lucas ceased to be
and the OT was placed in the wrong hands...

I can't believe you guys can't see the comedy in this thing. I saw it when I was a kid, but really hardly remembered it. I recently got a copy off of eBay, and man... I haven't laughed so hard in years.

Here's just a few things that made me guffaw:

** The "Donna Reed" opening with Chewie's lipstick Wookie wife

** His dad "Itchy" watching virtual porn of a 70s ballroom singer supplied by Ed Norton from "The Honeymooners"

** Chewie's little brat celebrating the arrival of a TRS-80 home computer

** Bea Arthur singing a bar song to a tuneful version of one of the original "Star Wars" cantina songs transposed down a few church modes

** Harvey Korman's attempt to turn "Star Wars" into a skit on the "Carol Burnett Show"

** Jefferson Starships first step in its move from the superstar band of the 70s to the category "rock groups that suck"

** Luke Skywalker in his '70s style feathered mullet

** A very stoned Carrie Fischer singing a holiday ballad to a toned down opening "Star Wars" theme

** The very poignant love scene between battle-worn Chewie and his very hairy woman (as creepy as it was, it was more convincing than anything in "Attack of the Clones")

This thing has comedy that never dies. I am glad I finally tracked down a good copy of it.

I'm glad you did too, mOzart. It's funny for all the wrong reasons, virtually defining a category in which the Prequels wish they could be included.

Aw MAN! THAT'S my problem. I can't see the humor in it!

I've got to work on that.
