I think I do a pretty good job of creating a review that is more enteretaining than the actual movie but the actual movie is not to be believed.  If you were watching it right now you'dk now what I'm talking about.

Well, as I said, I don't beleive I'll be able to watch it. But the review is hilarious. Can't wait for the rest of it.

I took the time out to look at some of IMDB's loyal readersthought of the holiday special.

QUOTE
I agree, there is way too much critisism of this show. It provided some great insight into the world and personal lives of wookiees. Carrie Fisher's singing voice is absolutely wonderful. It's portrayl of family values through out the galaxy is beautiful. It's not Christmas until I sit down with a glass of mulled wine and bag of holiday ginger snap cookies and watch this stirring movie. I think the George Lucas should not be ashamed of this movie and should embrace it like I have.

insightful, i'm sure you'll agree.

There's no way that that could have been written in all seriousness. That person has to be joking.

Chef is right. Every HS die-hard knows that it's a THANKSGIVING Day special.

Chef, just saw the remaining chapters of your SWHS review, great stuff as always.

Just one omission: Didn't Krelma GET the girl at the end of her song? Further evidence that if you hang around the party long enough for everyone to leave, you just might get lucky.*

Bloody hell... just read the new stuff....
Why didn't they just go "here, have some turkey" and start talking about the persecution of the Wookies by the Imperials and diseases in blankets and cultures coming tgether to make one uber-culture that is the United States of Kashyyk. For some reason, whenever an imperial one-on-ones with Han, they always forget about their gun, which is a handy trick if you can manage it.
"Welcome to the most boring part of the film"
Love it, but wouldn't want to watch it.
Thanks, Chef.

Um... kinda. He just sorta shows up after the song and dance and presents Bea Arthur with a flower. There is no indication that he does or does not win the girl. Presumably Bea Arthur's character had some more biting sarcasm for him.

Thanks for the compliments, Mnesymone. smile.gif

it's hard to watch without skipping...

it hurts to know that i watched this thing so many times as a kid...

i used to watch it on a projector at a friends place when i was young.
his dad had the ANH on reel, and the holiday special... i was quite young, and as the years went on i wasn't sure exactly what i had seen but i spent basically over 20 years of my life convince that (thanks to the renaming of SW as ANHep4) that i had seen episodes 1-3.

and that for some reason, they had been blanked out of history and that i was the only one who had even vaguely remembered them...

for nearly ten years i lost contact with that friend but even when we did meet up again, he thought the same thing, as the reels had been lost.

George Lucas and his own ass covering had the world thinking i was a mad man and had me thinking i was living in some 'invasion of the body snatchers' type existance...

it was only a few years ago (After Ep1 had come out) that a friend of mine stumbled onto the stomptokyo website and figured that's what had happened...

especially as one of the scenes i remembered, was storm troppers on kashyyyk in Chewbaccas home...

if it had not been for that i'd be locked away by now...

the only thing worse than knowing something that no one else does, that makes everyone think you are insane, because it's something so huge, like 3 forgotten chapters of the biggest pop culture phenomina since the beatles... is to find out 20+ years later that it was something else entirely...

i mean this would would be like if you were the only person who remembered the eifle tower if it suddenly dissapeared, only to find out twenty years later that it was actually the leaning tower of pizza that disappeared and that the eifle tower had not yet been built... CAN YOU IMAGINE???
CAN YOU IMAGINE???

i hope this has been an interesting insight into my life...

Chefelf - thank you. I've just read the rest of the review. They should be gratefult to you that you converted it into something so enjoyable.

Barend... your experience is really eerie. But if you were like only 10 when you saw the Holiday Special, it might have happened... I can't remember the first time I saw ANH, I only have some very vague recollection...

And - how do you actually pronounce Kashyyk?

Not exactly sure. I always assumed it was "KASH-EEK". Perhaps ROTS will prove me wrong by having it pronounced "KAZ-OOK" like in the Holiday Special.

I always assumed it was pronounced "CORUS-KONT" until TPM so you never know. smile.gif

I always thought Kashyyk you brought out both 'y' sounds separately so Kash-ee-icK

But then again I also though Coruscant was Kor-os-kant rather than Kor-a-sant.

Ka-Chic, right?

went to visit my sister's fam and the nephews. Saw the Ep 3 today again. I am SO happy I didn't go on Saturday too.

At any rate, my brother-in-law just sent me this link.

I dont belive I have ever laughed so hard in my life. I was really tired when I was reading this and I seriously had to take breaks inbetween chapters to calm myself down. I was laughing that hard, no joke.

My favourite parts as follows:

-"Your basic gymnastics MESMERIZE me!"

-DARTH VADER: Commander, what is Life Day?
COMMANDER: Well that's when Life up and got itself born, I reckon. ....wtf?!?

-Pressuring Wookiees into sexual situations never goes out of style.

-Itchy gets fastened into the Wookiee masturbation chamber.

-"I remember lots of things..."
