Zelda A discussion

I've been mulling over this for some time now. What kind of game is Zelda? It has RPG elements (get heart containers to increase health, new weapons) but it looks like a platformer, even though it has no platforms or jumping. I just prefer to give it it's own genre, Zelda Games.
By the way, anyone know when the new one comes out for GC?

i tend to put it in the Action-adventure catagory. Its too easy to put everything with orcs and elves into the RPG catagory. Zelda doesn't have enough choices/messing around with stats to qualify. Not that its a bad thing.
New game is\was pencilled in for 4th quarter 2005. Which knowing nintendo probably means the year 2134, when the monkeys have taken over.

I only called it an RPG due to the character development being like a primitive 'leveling'. More advanced then your average adventure game, but far short of an RPG.
Apparantly, the Australian release is 31/12 for the new one.

What?
God damn it!
Well, I guess they have to do it to improve the game. Or maybe they're just doing it to build even more anticipation. However, I will not whine like the Zelda fans in that link.

Ewok: Blasphemy! Death to the non-believer!
Nah, I jest, but the 1st party Zelda games have always been top notch games in general, minus Majora's Mask. They're action adventure games where you get the ability to hold more items and get a bigger life bar.
Except the Adventure of Link for the NES. That was an action/RPG, which I LIKED. Though it wasn't quite the same...
Edit: GRR! on the release date, but we all knew it was going to happen. That gives me more time to save up money/pre-order, but ruins Birthday/Christmas present status.
Edit2: Scroll down and commence the standard "Nintendo r00lz!" and "Nintendo is T3h Suck!" fanboyism...

Oh well, a better game is a better game. We don't want a repeat of KotOR 2. And this will give me ample time to play Oblivion, which I'm told is being released in December.
