Sin City rocked! It's one of the best movies of the year. I don't think the movie is too gory. In ROTS clones, kids and Jedi are killed but nobody cares because there's no blood. The blood in Sin City is white with some exceptions (Yellow Bastard's blood, Marv's blood in his face) so it's not that gory.
The thing that made Sin City a R-rated movie was the nudity, but the nudity in the movie it's nothing compared to the nudity in the graphic novels. In the novels, Yellow Bastard is naked when she tortures Nancy and she dances naked in the novel.

Bought the DVD last week. Friday night had a few mates round and a couple of crates of beer.
And I have to say, its been a long time since I've been as entertained by a movie as I was by this. Its probably not one for the purists but in its own way I thought it was great.
