To clear some things up:

floppydisk: You're Not Dead! Stop pretending to be a ghost!

Slade:I had some misconceptions about a post of Dorothy's which has been edited. It had to do with her going to the nightclub where people give lots of tips and doing "pirate-o-grams". I was a bit off, but was only joking anyway.

Mnesymone: I figured somebody would pick it up if I layed it on thick enough. I knew you got it, but I was just reminding anyone who didn't and for laughs (my own of course)

*Alright you've made it to your ships and I'll be telling you who goes where.
The Scurvy Dogg:
floppydisk (pirate captain)
Madam Corvax (spellcaster)
Otal Nimrodi (pirate? punching bag tongue.gif just kidding)
Dr. Lecter? (cook, don't think he is playing anymore)
The Call Of The Damned:
Mnesymone (Austrailian pirate captain)
Kirby? (former captain in his Majesty's navy, unsure if he is playing)
Dorothy (owl girl? pirate-o-gram singer)
Coco (pirate? eater of popcorn)
The Bitey 69er:
barend (pirate captain)
Chyld (as barend's flag I suppose)
Jane Sherwood (captain/commodore, don't think she will be around for a bit, going through an emotional ordeal right now. Check the hurricane thread in the lobby to lend support)
Laughlyn? (first-mate, don't think he wants to play anymore)
Crimson Steel:
Slade (ninja captain)
Emu (head gunner)
J m HofMarN? (vampire-ninja)
Icey (viking warrior)

some people had "pirate names, I think. I'll look into that.*

edit: damn details

Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

*MC drifts slowly back to consciousness. She is badly burnt, and her vision is blurred, but that might be the side effect of too much Battle Meditation fuel*

Floppy, would you please stop nudging me? I am alive!

*MC spots Icey, sitting nearby, looking ponderously at the mackerel skies. The place seems abandoned, or maybe MC just can't see clearly at the moment.*

Oh, hello Icey. No, I have no idea where we are supposed to be. Last time I remember, I summoned Town Portal to rescue me and Slade. Is he all right?

*Slade is still unconscious. Of course, MC knows the Divine Intervention spell, but that one uses up a lot of mana*

OK, I can wake him up, but I need some rum.

Hah! I have a crew!

though re DMing... I thought the Pirates of the Anger Clan were freeform. The plot will take its own unplotted and unplottable direction, people will do things, stuff will be lost track of.

Like pirate names - every now and then I had glimmers of the name Roland Anvilhawk as a pirate name.

I should be able to handle that my good Madam.

*Icey drifts into a nearby liquor store, soon afterwards there are two brief flashes of light, and then a man holding a shotgun gets tossed out the window with a broken champegne bottle embedded into his forehead. Shortly afterwards Icey steps back out, with fewer articles of clothing than he had previously, being stripped only to jeans and hawaii shirt. In his hands is a large paper bag, several bottles of rum and a resealable metal container filled with mead. He hands Madam Corvax a rum bottle and smiles while checking off the last of his Berzerking usage for the day.*

*MC checks the content of the bottle against light, finds it satisfactory, uncorks the bottle in one fluid movement and drinks about half of it in three big gulps. Floppydisc, who would rather have crewmembers without alcohol problem on his ship, is watching her in disgust.
MC stands up, rummages in her pockets for a purple gold-edged robe of finest silk, puts is on and raises her hand. A sound like cathedral bells is heard – Slade wakes up.

However, due to the nature of the DIVINE INTERVENTION Slade is not only one who rises from death – so is the unfortunate wielder of shotgun, so efficiently dispatched of by Icey with champagne bottle– and so are a few more thugs who have been lying around, now healed from their wounds, and they all look rather unfriendly *

Ooops, sorry guys, maybe I should have used the Guardian Angel spell, but that wouldn’t have been so effective. Anyway, in view of present situation I suggest we move on, perhaps to join our crewmates and ships, and the faster the better.

Good idea.

*Icey spins around and looks the shopkeeper (man with shotgun) straight in the eyes and starts removing his shirt. The shopkeeper twitches and turns around giving Icey an ideal opportunity to run as fast as he could towards the docks to find himself a ride to wherever the hell people are going.*

QUOTE (Coco @ Sep 22 2005, 09:46 PM)
Who will be kind enough to take me in his/her ship?

Well, I would've invited you to join, but our DM seems to be a little forceful in the DM'ing department...

Anyway, whatever...

*hamstrings a pirate, and runs down to his ship, stopping to loot a gun store on the way*

Ooh, now I gots me some .45 revolvers...

<OOC>As a person, I have a fondness for the gun that won the west, but as a ninja-pirate, I can not even use guns due to my honor code. We haven't integrated them into either class tree yet. And I wasn't dead, just KO'd. That's surely a mis-type...</OOC>

*Slade staggers slowly to his feet, his ears ringing and his head feeling like it had recently lost a fight with an entire building. "Need... rum & tea..." He mumbles, instinctually rendering more generic pirates limbless as they approach.*

<OOC>Yay for combat reflexes . happy.gif</OOC>

Edit: Didn't close my fake tags properly.

Well, I think our DM needs to lighten up and let us develop our own storyline. DMs are there to keep order, stop assholes from ruining the game, and to give us gentle nudges when we need it.

The whole point is that it's a FREEFORM game. I still like you, Zatoichi, just lighten up a bit, you rabid zealot. tongue.gif

Aye, you've done a good thing by getting us going again (I haven't had the energy to get something serious down in a while to ressurect the thread), but you can't expect a group of social misfits, geeks, starwars fans, et. al. to role play as pirates and adhere to a ridgid story line. :-P

Sorry, just trying to get you guys going to things that I already have ideas for. Slade, your character is central to the main plot. I am trying to prevent a fixing the ship for ten pages or any other nonsense (even though I found it humorous).

I've never actually DMed anything before, so this is my first go. I'll lighten up a bit, but I want all of you to give more direction to the game. Once I bring my character out of the woodwork, It will be a lot easier. If anybody wants to run any ideas by me, just PM me or something. I may be coming off as a little overbearing, because I kind of check up on stuff at least once a day.

Also if anyone could ask any of the other people who have played to rejoin in the fun, that would be cool. I think they may be ignoring me, because I have PMed them, but I have recieved no responses yet. sad.gif I might look for new players to fill their respective roles, or come up with new ones.

And don't worry, if any asshole tries to ruin the game, I'll kill them.(or at least bombard them with every given possible chance.)

I think you might be missing the point Zatochi, the anger thread is a democratic anarchy. We do what we like, kill who we like, drink what we like, and react how we like. We behave like pirates basically. That's what made this thread soo special. Kirby did an excellent job of keeping out of the way in his GM work and letting everyone do their own thing.

The GM doesn't tell the story round here, the players do, it's freeform. You can't pre-plan or prewrite this, it has no direction.

If it's a storytelling and organised character development you want, then you might be best writting a piece for the screening room, or maybe hosting a RPG game in the lobby\games room.

.....and just so everyone is extremely clear on the subject; The pirates comic is on hold for the forseeable future, although I intend to pillage characters\plot elements of it for another project (most of you know what I'm talking about). This is due to the amount of time required to redo all the artwork, and an increase in overall quality, not due to lack of literary ideas or script.

I haven't forgotten, I'm just extremely busy.

I want to go back to the films of the 80's, where plots were simple, and explosions happened regularly....

Well, we do descend into mindless gibberish frequently, and sometimes need help being bailed out. Which is good!

But I think a loose overall story arc is a good thing. And somebody needs to control the NPCs that aren't randomly being slaughtered by our hands. So my vote is nudging is all right in story terms, but pushing is not.

No, I actually am a punching bag. At least for Mirithorn.

And to add my two cents, Zatoichi, your DMing leaves much to be desired. DMing, especially in this, is like what God does. Just create the world, and let everyone else do the rest.
