I haven't been lurking here long - a couple days - and actually, after browsing a few threads in most forums, I must say I found amazingly little flaming, even on threads with possible hot subjects like religion, politics ...
That's partly why I registered instead of lurking forever.
About me : I am French, of the female persuasion (whoever persuaded me ?!?), I am 40, I am a computer engineer but I don't look like one, I look like a Gnome and that's what most of my friends call me.
BTW ChefElf, I must say I am really disappointed of the discrimination about Gnomes not being allowed to join the Redcloud Brothers.
Know that in France the garden variety are not called Gnomes but Dwarves.
And I love this smiley
so I think I will be using it a lot even when I don't feel like yelling, until you come up with a one that both yells and laughs !
Also : trust me, you don't want your member numbers go too high if you want to remain a friendly board where people feel good. I have seen to my sorrow a forum that was dear to me degenerate from a friendly cosy place to lots of flaming to the point where most of the friends I made there stopped coming and I don't recognize it anymore, that way.

As a level 36 Gnome Warrior, I am leader of the Gnomish anti-defamation league. Gnomes are your friends, people! They decorate your lawns, make your recombobulators.
