At the moment I'm thinking Untitled by Interpol. It's the opening track of 'Turn off the Bright Lights' which is possibly my favourite album or at least on of them.

U-ugh, the only song I know among these you all mentioned is Comfortably Numb. Thanks, Despondent, at least there is someone here from my generation.

BTW, I am quite puzzled why this particular song of Pink Flowyd. Isn't Wish you Were here even more almost painfully beautiful?

If the Smashing Pumpkins are involved, one must mention "33". It almost goes without saying, methinks.

The Dark is Rising, by Mercury Rev. The guy's high voice is a tad irritating, but the sweeping cinematic parts more than make up for it.

Bargh. I am != a fan of Coheed & Cambria. I've tried; the singer makes me get stabby most of the time, but they do have interesting/creative music mostly. Though they could grow on me like Mars Volta did...

I know this thread is old, and I don't care what peope think, but "Gone Away" by the Offspring brings a tear to my eye these days.

Gone Away is the worst song the Offspring ever wrote. Nothing fits! The intro makes me cringe because of how awkward and irritating it is. holy mother of god.

On a positive note:
- Everything on Brian Eno's "Another Green World" belong here, for sure.
- I think it's Kaji Hideki's "You and Me song" that i'm thinking of. It's mostly acoustic guitar and voice and it's just so pretty.
- The piano intro to FZ's 'The Little House i USed to Live in'
"Nothing is real, all is permitted"
- Hassan i Sabbah
"There's nothing wrong with anything."

Well, that went well.

I'd like to see someone try and prove "Aerials" by System of a Down doesn't qualify here. I'd really like to.
