I'm reading Catch-22. I tried reading it awhile back, but I don't think I paid enough attention to it and as a result didn't really appreciate it. Although I might wind up not liking it again this time too.

EDIT: I think I need to make that last sentence more redundant...

Catch-22 is my favoritist book of all time. One of my three, at least. I'm currently reading The Brothers Karamazov. I must say it's picked up considerably after the fantastically dry first hundred pages. Stuff is actually happening, now.

I'm reading Reaper Man from Terry Pratchett at the moment, as I've recently managed to get my hands on an English copy. Everytime I read it it still seems to add something new to the experience.

I'm only half way through "Equal Rites". Probably won't be able to get back to it until the end of December.

Don't know if that's of any interest to anyone, it's for an up & coming comic publisher.

Just finished 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' vol 1 & 2. I LOVED the myriad of Victorian Literature references, especially the oh-so-subtle nods in the background. The fact that Randolph Carter was one of the main characters in the prequal to the first book actually made me jump for joy.

Moving onto 'The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadith', a short story by H P Lovecraft and featuring Carter. From what I have read so far, it is a true journey of the stoned.

Yeah reading is kinda boring. There's simply not enough quality horror out there. Stephen King is great but his newer stuff is kinda bland. I just started reading The Tommyknockers again. Great book!

Read "A Clockwork Orange" the other month. Pretty good, once you overcome the whole other language thing.

Followed that with "The Neuromancer", which is basically what the Matrix ripped off. Also good. Odd thought: its a set text for English students here in Hull, I just read it for kicks. Why did none of them have a clue what was going on?!?

Currently reading more Tom Sharpe, and still re-reading The Time Travellers Wife. As ever.

Still stuck reading Ringworld and Equal Rites when I have a chance. Will take a crack at Eragon for no better reason than the fact that a film adaptation of it is coming out. devil.gif

Neuromancer is an interesting book. If it had been written a less confusedly and more clear, it might have been a great book.

I've been reading Ovid. He's got every kind of nasty sexual relationship in there. Incest, bestiality, rape... if the Metamorphoses really have every plotline in them, yuck...
