No, the host is Jon Stewart. Hence the name The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

And yes, it does indeed rock.

It is the last bastion of unbiased news. Stewart isn't afraid to take the piss out of everything stupid, and when he can't do it alone, he calls in Stephen Colbert, those other guys, and Lewis Black to help out. And its so bloody brilliant. Hilarious political and social satire.

I'm watching it right now, actually. But is this really a topic for debate? This is more of a movie room thing...

Some people have criticized Stewart for sucking up to his guests and for overstepping his bounds (being all 'serious pundit' instead of just being a funnyman, like when he went on that one show and said those guys were hurting america.)

I think I approve of what he does, though. I'd feel uncomfortable if he was mean to his guests, for example.

I saw that show. Those guys were assholes to Stewart. I don't think he should be mean to his guests, but he might try to be a little lighter at one point in the interview. Throw a few jokes in to go with the interview.

Edit: So should I move this to the film forum?

I'd change the channel to the television talk forum.

Stewart's great. I'd swear I saw him on Smallville once, in a role. Does he act?

Well, he was in Half-Baked and The Faculty. And one time he was on NewsRadio.

Jon Stewart did stand up back in the day. I've listened to one of his albums. It was decent. Also, the show was Crossfire, which was summarily cancelled soon after Stewart's appearance on it. If you get a chance, pick up a copy of "America". It's written by teh writers of the Daily Show and is hilarity in hardback.

Speaking of Dennis Miller, I miss the glory days of Dennis Miller Live on HBO. His new show on cable sucks... hard. sad.gif

From what I hear, Dennis Miller sold his soul to the Dark Side of the Spectrum.

And The Daily Show is the best television show, ever. At least, in the past 10 Years.

And he was in Big Daddy. Also, Short Attention Span Theater, the best show ever!

And, yes, moving to television forum. smile.gif
