Old George Lucas is sinking to new depths in the name of promoting his latest piece of fluff, and it's a damned shame that nobody has put this fat, old, self-important windbag of pomposity in his fucking place.

He comapred ROTS to Titanic. Immediately afterwards he compared Lucasfilm to Microsoft and "Heir to the Empire" to "War and Peace." (Okay, those last two were jokes.)

Titanic is the #1 movie of all time, and it has already held that distinction for more weeks than Star Wars ever did. It also won the most Oscars of all time, and was at the #1 spot for the most weeks in modern cinema history (since 1982), and is the #1 global movie of all time by an even larger margin than it is the #1 American movie (and it's #1 in the U.S. by such a freakishly large margin that you could fit The Matrix's box office between Titanic and its closest competitor.)

Why the hell didn't James Cameron grab Old George Lucas by his third chin and just start pounding his sleepy-eyed face into his skull, Irrevesible-style? Hey, if I were on the jury, I would vote acquittal!

Seriously, this shit is totally unacceptable. I urge all of you to do as I will do: Buy a ticket for another picture when you walk into ROTS, just as if you're a 13 year-old sneaking into an R-rated picture.

Anyway, wasn't AOTC supposed to be the "dark" and "tragic" part of the PT?

Here's the fucking link (but in lieu of reading the story, I advise you all to instead spend the two minutes staring at a filled toilet bowl - it would be more pleasant): http://channels.nets...0&w=RTR&coview=

i might be going out on a limb here, but what i think he ment is that they are bothe tradgedys and that rots deals with more emotional themes. but with a basher mindset on i can understand how you came to that conclusion.

Actually, its like the TITANIC, in that STAR WARS is a sinking ship. Baron Crapanoida is merely suggesting that he has finally fucked star wars once and for all.

D brennan is a titanic fan people, so most of his childish insults and pissing and moaning he did in that post of his is down to his love of a horrifying film.

ROTS will probably gross the least out of the prequels - lucas has admitted this. but im worried that he's comparing SW to that piece of shit crapfest that is titanic. probably means the emotions of the characters etc in ROTS will be almost as bad as that wretched bloated mess of exploitative chick flicknees that cameron made - made me hate him and even all of his past films for unleashing that film into our planet.

Not surprised at all by this. The trailer in OC and now a Titanic comparison. It's not very difficult to deduce which market segment he's aiming for this time. And even though I find many parts of Titanic to be unbearably horrid, I suspect RotS will outdo it on that level.

My prediction of MY reaction to Revenge of the Shit.

opening scroll and music starts:

>>okay the last one finally...here goes

rest of movie:

>>okay, interesting...wait...you have got to be kidding...okay nevermind...hmmm...interesting...oh my god...did I just hear that...alright...that was interesting...holy shit he thinks star wars is fucking Wagner now...oh my God...now THAT is bad acting...hmmm....why am I here....wow this film is violent...that would have been a good scene....in fricken episode I...why didn't he kill jar jar...he had the chance...sheesh...you have got to be kidding...I am surprised Anakin doesn't start singing...hahah...padme looks like a viking broad from some rediculous opera...look at that Obiwan...now why would Obiwan do that?
...

over all, some interesting points here and there, but awfully pretentious and way off the Star Wars map, this film has some interesting moments to watch, but the acting is so bad it makes Plan 9 From Outer Space look like the Godfather...

It's sad that he can't find a better film to compare Episode 3: Revenge of the Shit to than that overblown piece of crap known as Titanic.
I am the Fisher King.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

If I hear Celine Deon play during the film, I will proceed to drop a giant duece right onto the screen.

I do not hold much into the fact that Titanic broke box office records since it had only a small percentage to do with the story as compared to the tweeners who flocked to see Leo. It was an alright film at best that before it even came out, people were predicting to be the biggest bomb of all time.

Let's see...Titanic was melodramatic, had bad acting, and TERRIBLE dialogue.

I don't think that is unimaginable in a George Lucas movie, do you?

Hey, I started a similar post at TFN and all the Prequel Fanboys started in with their, "I didn't like 'Titanic'" cries, too. "Ewww, a boy kissing a girl," "Bad acting," etc.

I know that most of you people are fans of movies that nobody likes and nobody wants to see, but personal tastes in movies are not at all what the original post was about.

Whether you personally like it or not - and I think it's pretty clear that you're all alike, you all think 'Titanic' is bad, evil, whatever - 'Titanic' is literally - not figuratively or as an opinion, but empircally and indisputably - the most successful picture of all time.

And I don't think it's right to compare a movie that hasn't even been seen to it.

What does it say about Lucasfilm's confidence in TPM and AOTC that instead of comparing ROTS to those movies - which Lucas directed and which carry the SW name - they're not comparing ROTS to those but to some movie made by completely different people that has absolutely zero connection to Star Wars. It's pathetic that they're trying to piggy-back onto 'Titanic' becuse their own movies suck so fucking much.

Brennan, I for one Liked the boat movie. And would rather watch it (if forced to) than going number one or going number two.
