hey, im a big fan of adventure games (5 n 7 days particularly rocked) n was just wondering wether ne1 is makin any more freeware games with AGS. Also i plan to make my own but am having trouble with the character designs, animating them in particular (they always end up walking like theyv shit themselves) so if any1 has any advice or frames i can work off id be grateful (frame as in wire frame image for the right posture and leg/arm movements rather than actual completed characters)

cheers

I'm working on a Reality-on-the-Norm game called The Return of Frank Malone, which is starting to take shape at last. Have released a very short demo over at the RON site, but will be uploading a much bigger and far better one in a few days, showing off the first puzzle and the funky new main sprite.

If you haven't already, check out the RON site. There are over sixty games in the series already, plenty to get your teeth into.

BTW, Yahtzee, I know you were one of it's founders... do you still pop in now and then?

If I ever stop doing work long enough to work on my game I will. I did loads to it at Christmas and I haven't touched it since. Its been in production for almost a year now, I guess I just don't like finishing stuff (ask my IT, Physics or History teacher).

I've got enough mad projects/coursework on as it is, without starting an AGS project too. I'd be happy to have a crack at it, do the programming and scripting, if someone wants to work with me and do the artwork/sprites...

I think you'll find that 1 graphics designer is worth about 20 programmers, fortunately I befriended two graphics designers whom I will be using to great effect later. Muhahahaha

lol yeh, graphics are the hardest part for games on ags, they take up miost the time and make the first impressions. Its not so much the drawin as the animating that i cant do tho:P

I'm actually working on a comedy based on old 80's style horror. Its called Goregasm. Its still in the very basic of concepts. The story and some concet art is done. If anyone is interested in getting in on this project let me know.

hurrah iv started my first AGS project thats actually taking shape biggrin.gif
Whether i actually finish it or not is a completely different story however.
The game is entitled october 18 (for a reason might i add), where you play as a journalist in an american city called San Rockmore. The plot is pretty much mapped out, and a tiny amount of graphics have been done (including a character who doesnt walk like hes shit himself)
The game is set into the near future, and is kind of serious and dark, not really a comical game at all. Not that anyone cares but i felt i had to do summin to keep me entertained at 5am, so thought id note that down here tongue.gif

Tripod doesn't like you. Or your pictures. Or something.
Use imageshack.

And bitmaps? Luvvie, you want to save them as PNG files. They're all the rage this year.

I'd check you're text colours. It's hard to read in that first picture.
