I've seen better poster's but I've also seen worse. The only real problem I have with it is the obvious parallel to ROTJ with the dueling jedi.

I'm not sure I like this particular "brand" of Star Wars movie poster. They often try to cram in as many different characters and things as possible and I think they often look too cluttered.

While it's not my favorite movie, I rather enjoy the simplicity of the old Revenge of the Jedi poster:

chef - for simplicity I like the style A return of the Jedi poster. really powerful yet so simple,

also the style B empire poser is an example of what a SW poster should look like. but then agian it's an example of what a star wasr film should be like, and that didn't stop lucas from making 4 other films of wretched quality.

Lightsaber is wrong color, shouldn't it be red?

Other than the wrong lightsaber colors, I actually like the Revenge of the Jedi poster. You're about the simplicity part, and it definately does a lot to make it more pleasing than cluttering up a poster with a million characters!

If Jariten could be turned, he would be a powerful ally.

the big happy crammed gang / lobby poster is something I'd credit disney with. You have main character, trio of singing animal friends; parent; villian (also with singing animal friends,) the romantic lead and the lady in waiting. Usually around 12 characters.

That being said, I kind of like the SE posters. they work together, kind of like the old KISS solo album posters. laugh.gif

hey look. it's the death star.

I like what appear to be reminiscent of x-wings flying off the lower left corner.

Use of the helmet: nothing subtle here.

I still wish that helmet wasn't so prominent. That's just screams "Bait and switch coming! And you won't realize it until five minutes before the movie is over!" tongue.gif

I think both posters are brutal. They are begging me to see the film.

"Look! Darth Vader! Look! Yoda with a Lightsaber! "Wars not make one great," my ass! Hey! The Death Star! Keep it coming folks, I damn near pulled my dick off when I saw it! Must see STAR WARS!" -George Lucas
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).
