QUOTE
March 07, 2005 - IGN FilmForce has learned that none other than Oscar-winner Quentin Tarantino is in final negotiations to write and direct the Ultimate Jason Voorhees Movie, an all new Friday the 13th for New Line.

While the rumor mill had long suggested that the next movie might be Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, that project never came together for a number of reasons.

Fans will instead be treated to the Ultimate Jason Voorhees Movie. The project will be a co-venture between New Line and Paramount Pictures. It is expected to be a "quickie" that could get underway as early as this year!

Tarantino's production company, A Band Apart, referred us to the William Morris Agency. A rep at WMA would only advise us that Tarantino has "not yet" been offered the job while refusing to elaborate any further.

If there's any (ultra-violent) filmmaker who could make Jason cool and scary again, it'd be the man who resurrected Travolta. I just wonder if the movie will be retitled Kill Jason?

Taken from Film Force. Maybe I'm just a huge slasher fan, but the thought of this fills my eyes with tears of joy.

Now I'm sure everyone already knows I'm Freddy Fan, but I just have to say...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! laugh.gif

There just comes a time every now and then when I get sick of giggling over horror movies. I want to genuinely scared by them again, like when I was a little kid and still thought the blood was real and couldn't identify bad acting or writing!

The teenagers in the jason flicks will still be easy enough to kill, right? I don't want these kids to start bustin out guns and actually become a challange for Jason to splater. tongue.gif

Cheers to Tarentino for taking on the ultra violent slasher flick genra (sp?) and let us pray that the rating does not become PG-13 biggrin.gif

Providing he doesn't go overboard on the action it'll be cool. No kung-fu though! Look what happened to Michael Myers; hard as nails serial killer gets done in by Busta Rymes.

I want to go back to the films of the 80's, where plots were simple, and explosions happened regularly....

I just read in the news & notes spot of Internet Movie Database, or IMDB for short (www.imdb.com) that Tarantino says he will NOT be undertaking a new Jason Voorhees movie; he was asked to but says he's not doing it and will most likely be working a Wolrd War 2 film, "Inglorious Bastards", about a group of soldiers on their way to be executed but taking a shot at freedom (or something like that).
I am the Fisher King.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.
