I just played and beat Earthworm Jim 2 yesterday, I'd forgotten how brilliantly zany it is. From saving cows from being abducted by aliens to a boss sequence that is around just long enough for the "fight!" dialogue to be displayed because your adversary is a fish in a bowl, to the ludicrous questions in the trivia game, which I used as a reference in making my old-school gaming quiz back when L&E wasn't Nancy Drew stories.

Ex:
Can Jim speak Chinese?
A. A
B. B
C. Both A and B

Anywho, some time soon I'm going to record myself doing perfectly on the Puppy Love levels (like the arcade's Kaboomz), and put the video up on here. Granted, my Sega Genesis broke three years ago so it will be on an emulator, but I assure you it will be genuine and uncut!

Ah yes, EWJ2. We've still got that on Mega Drive (aka Genesis), and I learned my leet Kaboomz skillz doing those levels.

But don't forget the first 'Jim. The bungee jumping levels are amongst my all-time favourite video game levels.

Ah EWJ, classic 16bit 90's gaming. Spawned a very bizarre TV series too, the best character of which was evil the cat. Time for a download methinks.....

Slade: I do remember that question appearing on the GSAT for some reason (before gamespot became crap), are you're quizzes still online anywhere?

I have the PC version of the first one lying around here somewhere. Came with our first PC back in 96 or so. Never played the second one though.

Sweet. I own the first one on PC too. I bought it at a computer fair for 5 dollars. My quizes are still in the L&E archives under contributing authors. I think I even took one of the trivia questions verbatim from EWJ2.

What's a GSAT?

Edit: Speaking of Kaboomz: *shakes his fist at Chyld* It's on like Donkey Kong. You picked the wrong mad man to mess with.

GSAT: GameSpot Atpitude Test. consisted of about 1000 questions split across all spectrums of gaming. Sort of a cult gaming knowledge benchmark. Ran every year for a while, but I think it's dead now.

Well at least this time it will be kept to the arcade where the rest of us won't have to read it, unless of course they happen to moderate the arcade...well, here I go again.
