As a matter of interest, if you have a Goods and Service tax, then you are paying the government everytime you purchase your contraceptive of choice, and ergo protected sex is taxed.

HMG only taxes '3am looking for an open gas station contraceptives'. The government provides free contraception, just go to any clinic and ask.

On this splendid drift i would like to express my jealosy of my friend, evil borg woman that she is, who has some implant in her arm that stops her getting pregnant. Not that I'm worried about getting knocked up, it's just that she's got a cybernetic implant and I don't!

Apparently:

A small stick containing the hormone progestogen which is inserted under the skin in the arm. The hormone is slowly released into the body, preventing eggs from being released, sperm from reaching an egg or an egg settling in the womb.

Although I confess that's taken from the material provided, rumours did circulate about a male version in developement, although how that would works is beyond me.

I was once walking down the street and this counter was giving out free condoms so I walked over and he gave me like 3 packets and I said "What? These won't even last me till tonight." And he laughed and I looked at him seriously and he gave me another 3 packets.

An implant that stops her getting pregnant? Holy crap, how long does that thing last? Is it permanent? That whole idea makes me nervous, not just the permanent birth control thing, but the implanted stuff.
Check out my crappy drawings!

While nifty, it sounds more like a cunning syringe than true bionics. What this has to do with computers eludes me, but since I believe I can learn Dutch in just over a decade, I'm not so steamed anymore.

yet, odly enough, if you have unprotected sex and have a child, you will be eligable for welfare and then tax payers pay you!!!

Implant thingys lasts for 6 months-5 years, the girl in question apparently has an older model with 6 rods and some kind of chip attached that allows the doc to adjust the settings.

Lecter: that's a common situation, just go to any university freshers week and visit the sex ed stand; they give you them in a carrier bag.

I'm just wondering how long it is before they start taxing the air and water too. As benjamin Franklin said, right before defeating General Custer at the battle of River Beak, "There's only two things certain in life are death and taxes. Now bring on the blunderbuss!"

Its £115 a year to own a Tv. The precise laws elude me, but that's it as far as I know.

You have to be kidding me! Is that per TV? Where does that money go?

Socialism is a good thing.....yikes.

Nah that would just be stupid, its just a lience you need to use a TV. Its pretty stupid that you can own a TV but if you use it without a lience you get fined. The lience fee sucks, down with the Queen! I used to call myself a republician, because I want a British republic, but since Bush became President I don't want to even consider calling myself it:
1. Because I hate him like the Pope hates Condoms
2. Because I'm afraid I'll be burnt at the stalk due to there actually (this was a shock to me) being people that hate Bush more than me.

The reason why most of the world hate America has nothing to do with jealousy, when Clinton was in power everyone loved America and did do for most of the Presidents before him. The reason why most countries hate America in this day and age is because of Bush. Not jealousy as most Americans would think. Not to say that they have nothing to be jealous of since they do, but that isn't the main reason.

- Don't blame me I like tangents -

That has got to be one of the most stupid things I've heard in my life. How is this enforced? Are there "TV Cops" that go door to door, and if they see your TV on ask to see your licence? That is absolutely surreal.

Over here some folks have this idea that Osama bin-Laden was sitting in a cave in Afghanistan, some flunky of his brought in a copy of the U.S. Bill of Rights, and Osama became so upset that he decided to punch a hole in the NYC Skyline right there and then -- at least, that the current Administration's view of things

The world is upset with the USA because we are throwing our weight around without even thinking of traditional allies or what the consequences will be. It's not like the USA hasn't done that before, but with the current gang in office, the crime of hubris is being peddled fast and furious.

It's all well and good that the Iraqis can vote now -- except that $130 billion of our taxpayer money has gone to that end, not to mention over 1000 American lives, and meanwhile the school just a few miles from my house hasn't had new history books delievered to it for years. The kids there in the 5th grade class are using history books from the 1980's.

I guess that all makes sense somewhere. blink.gif

Well, there's apparently vans that go around and detect unlicensed TVs, but I've never seen one, so I don't know how it works...

And yes, its fucking diabolical.

For a country with more domestic problems than most LEDCs America spends alot of money on the military. Bush really should stop wasting the governments money on pointless wars to make himself, his family and bussiness partners alot of money. It would be alot better taking the money and putting it into the education system so they can train up enough people that have the intelligence to vote against Bush. Since dumbing them down and telling them about this thing called nationalism seems to be the governments way. No offence to any Americans that have seen the light, or those that support Bush, and have the intelligence to know where Iraq is in the world, but I bet not enough to see all the trouble they caused there.
