Really? Thought they were better than the crap force fed to us from Lucas on the big screen. I actually think the whole Clone Wars saga going on though the Dark Horse Comics, Novels and this cartoon series has been very good. Surprisingly, Lucas has very little involvement except for the overall direction.

I watched a couple of those episodes.

One of them just blew me away, one of these long necked aliens is comissioned by count Duku to kill the clone army.

She then proceeds and mounts her hoover cycle with more of here compatriots, fine. But then they attack the clone army (tanks and all!!!) with lances, LANCES. she completly demolishes them and they have real weapons.

Or maybe sell the rights for starwars to a well respected director/writer.

I know you're only kidding. wink.gif

actually, it's probably in his will that when he dies, there'll be another JEDI special edition where at the end he appears with Anikan, Obi-wan, yoda, (qui-gon...)

(respectfully) yeah. And maybe Frodo will throw the ring at the crack of doom.

You're right, I am going overboard with the whole thing. But an animated show? Animated shows based on movies usually suck. Several years ago, I used to watch the GhostBusters cartoon, and I hated it. The animated series of The Mummy (based on the movie) was beyond stupid. Rick dropped his guns and picked up a whip (Eat your heart out Indy!), and the whole series was about getting the gold bracelet off of Rick's son's hand, which Amonethep wanted and would do anything to get it.

It just didn't make sense, and it was very, very badly done. I don't think I'll be seeing the Clone Wars show where I'm living, but I can definately live without it.

How about movies based on cartoons? From what I've heard the scooby doo movie was pretty lame, and it was based on a great cartoon. Do you consider the clone wars cartoon good amongst it's peers? (I think so.) Does that mean a movie based on it will be lame, a la Scooby, or the Flintstones? (Well, probably.) Lamer than what we've seen already? (is that possible?) Or maybe I should ask, a bigger disappointment? (a steadfast NO)

There was nothing wrong with the Ghostbusters cartoon series. And the fact that the Slimer Ecto-Cooler was created as a result of the show just makes the whole thing even better.

I'm sorry, I just remembered a lame element from a cartoon that was based on a movie (sort of) that was based on a comic book. later it became a movie franchise. of course you know I'm talking about Batman. in the 70's there was an updated cartoon, and er well, in the spirit of our (least) favorite gungan, does anybody remember, "bat-mite?" ("and ME too! Bat-mite!")

I think that was about the time Spiderman and friends made a resurgence, and everybody seemed to have a crotch bulge.

That's mostly true. The real reason why I didn't like it was because of the voice acting of some of the characters, like the voice of 'Tummy' from the Gummi Bears (a show which I definately enjoy). The voice just didn't fit, don't ask me why, but it really got up my spine even when I 9 years old.

Regarding the Spiderman movie. I didn't think there was all that much to it. If you exclude the obvious physics problems (which plague ALL 'superheroes') the movie didn't have all that much to keep me on the edge of my seat. I did like it to a minor degreem but nothing to form a long-lasting love for it. But I'll still like Spidey though... just where DID he come up with those tights? smile.gif
