A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Star Wars: Episode Three: Revenge of the character development

It appears that everything is going well in the
universe. Ok, maybe it dosn't. Frankly we're not
sure. However, regardless of what is going on, the
character development, having hidden and bided its
time for the previous two movies, is now ready to
strike...

Suddenly, out of the blackness of space, Anakin and
Palpatine become friends and have a master and
apprentice relationship. The Jedi order is helpless to
understand how this happened, or when, and across
the galaxy people begin to lose faith in the Jedi for
bring unable to see the sudden changes of character
relationships...

Meanwhile, on the all-important planet of Naboo,
Anakin and Padme are married for some reason and
Padme is pregnant. How this could have happened
considering Anakin's behavior in times past is anyone's
guess. But look out! General Grievous suddenly exists.
We've never heard of him but he sounds bad! And look,
now Obi Wan is in love with Amidal and Mace distrusts
Palpatine. Amid the confusion, the character development
prepares to wreak its vengeance...

From what I was told, there were to be action sequences, non-stop. I presumed that meant less dialogue, less character development.

Dammit! I was promised!

Come on now, the proof of Lucas bad writing, is the ABSOLUTE lack of character development of Jar Jar Binks. I mean, we all expected to know the entire history of this alien, and his quirks. This just doesn't cut it. You can't introduce a character like Jar Jar without fulfilling the entire role. What is truly missing is MORE Jar Jar. If only he had put Jar Jar in the forefront, such as devoting an ENTIRE film, say Episode II, to this character, he could have made every Star Wars fan satisfied, instead we are left with these brief appearances. What a fool...

these prequels have terrible characterisation. I don't think I like a single character in the prequels bar one or two - at least none of the main ones (liam neeson was okay). I think ROTS' story should've been spread over two films. this one sounds like return of the jedi with luke going to the darkside instead - but we actually cared and liked this guy. anakin in the prequels has been one big wasted opportunity - all i remember is action scenes, pod races, whining, jango fett and stormtroopers being clones - great lead up to the OT!

Not only Anakin, but the whole PT was one big waste of time. And no, I can't disregard it if I ever watch the OT again. These ARE the prequels we've been waitng our entire lives for. They suck dick, but there's nothing we can do about it.

I just plan to watch the entire Saga one last time after I get ROTS on VHS or DVD and then never watch them again. It's been a very long time since I watched Star Wars, so I know I can live without it.

What are your plans after 'Revenge of the Shit' comes out?

Seek another franchise, or focus on my own stuff and not have this Star Wars flotsam interferring.

Battle for the Galaxy--read the "other Star Wars"

All I know is I haven't seen the real prequels yet.
