STAR WARS STAR FOUND GUILTY OF DRINK-DRIVING

LATEST: STAR WARS actor KENNY BAKER has been found guilty of drink-driving and slapped with a one-year road ban.
The 70-year-old vertically challenged actor - who played robot R2-D2 in the original trilogy - has also been ordered to pay a $209 (GBP110) fine for driving his Maroon Mercedes in Lancashire, England, on 17 December (04) with 92 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millimetres of blood.
But far from being pessimistic about his driving ban, Baker hopes his criminal offence will lead to love.
He jokes, "I'm on the lookout for a lady chauffeur, but I'd prefer it if she was two foot six inches.
"I did break the law, so I have to be punished."

Even though the guy admitted guilt in come capacity or another, I always get bothered when people put the burden of proof on the accused rather than the accuser.
Naturally, this is because of personal experience. At 3 AM about a year ago I was speeding down an EMPTY expressway (note that word, "EXPRESSway") and got pulled over for speeding. The cops randomly told me to perform field sobriety tests, which I passed with flying colors, and then they gave me a breathalizer. The three or four beers I'd had some two hours before narrowly pushed me over the legal limit, and I got my license suspended.
Because of this, I
-Lost my job
-Had to beg people for rides for 8 months
-Had to get a new, crappy job to pay the government about $2,000
-Had to deal with such an endlessly frustrating and incompetent bureaucracy that I would spend LITERALLY six hours waiting in line only to have some sleepy-eyed, dimwitted broad tell me that I needed to have a STATE I.D. to reapply for a license
My point is is that I was 100% physically in control of my body, as proven by the field sobriety tests, and yet they still completely and totally fucked up my life. So the government doesn't carry carte blanche credibility with me.
