I think there might be something to the theory of Lucas suffering a mental instability. And I like the Death Star as a metaphor for Lucas's problems.
If George Lucas doesn't shut the F*** up...

Wow! That is one hell of a quote! I would love to know who said that.
It becomes more and more apparent to me that Lucas IS insulating himself from the criticisms, but he can't keep it all out. I really wonder what it's like in a day around Lucas.
(I use to hate the man, but now I have nothing but pity)
Oy. I think I'm going to give up on these films for my sake, and for his sake. Man, I don't know what to say or think about the man anymore. His life is just as contradictory as his own films.

Flying Ferret
Battle for the Galaxy--read the "other Star Wars"
All I know is I haven't seen the real prequels yet.

He is an enigma.
How can a man make STAR WARS, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK....
and then be responsible for INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM and the GOD-FORSAKEN STAR WARS PREQUELS*?
It boggles the mind.
*and to a lesser extent, the crass commercialisation and lazy cop-out writing of RETURN OF THE JEDI.
